"Jonah? Can we please talk about what happened the other night?" Daniel said as he entered Jonah room, seeing the older boy laying on his bed.
"What's there to talk about?" Jonah asked as he sat up. "If you want we can just forget about it." He said and turned his phone off.
"No- no I don't want to forget about it. I want to talk about it. We're avoiding each other and it's not fair." Daniel said sitting at the end of Jonah's bed.
"Listen, we could talk about it or you can help me plan the wedding for Jack. Or at least help with rings. Jack will be back soon with Zach and we can't talk about this around him." Jonah said, feeling the eyes of Daniel on him.
"Jonah-"
"Really it's fi-"
"No, I like you. I do and I didn't mean to hurt you, if I did. I didn't mean to say Cora's name. I mean for god sake I was with her for almost two years and then we broke up. Not to mention I had a child with her who I guess was actually your child. It's- I loved her Jo. I know she was the reason for Jack.
She shouldn't of done that but I loved her. It's too soon for me to move on since she just passed. We need to take care of our child and just focus on Emily because she can't grow up hating me. And to be frankly honest with you Jonah, I don't even think I'm gay." Daniel said and got up. He slammed Jonah's door shut and went down the stairs to see Zach standing in the kitchen.
"What happened there?" Zach asked as he shoved a handful of goldfish in his mouth.
"None of your business. Stay out of it." Daniel growled and slammed the back door shut.
Zach's eyes widened at Daniel's anger and just shrugged his shoulders, seeing Jack walk in with grocery bags that Zach didn't help with.
"I think Daniel and Jonah are fighting." Zach blurted out. "Daniel was angry and I heard him yelling."
"Okay. Put these away and I'll check on Jonah. Where's bean and Daniel?"
"Daniels outside and Cornbean is nowhere to be seen. I think he took Emily to daycare." Zach said and continued to eat goldfish, watching his boyfriend put the bags on the counter and walk away.
Jack jogged up the stairs and softly knocked on Jonah's door, hearing the soft cry's of the older boy. Jack opened the door to see Jonah sobbing and under a pile of blankets.
"Jo, what happened?" Jack asked and sat down next to Jonah.
"Daniel said he wasn't gay but he liked me." Jonah said and looked up at Jack. "He still loves Cora." Jonah whined.
"It's okay, maybe Daniel just isn't the guy for you-"
"I'm not gay, Jack." Jonah said standing up and shoving Jack out the door. "I never will be." He said and shut the door.
Jack slowly walked down the stairs, feeling bad for Jonah. He stood in front of his own boyfriend and sighed. Zach raised his eyebrow at him and began to talk.
"What's wrong?"
"What's wrong is that we live in a house filled with closeted, in denial, gays." Jack said and hugged Zach, combing his fingers through Zach's hair.
