my two classes were already over. today seemed to be going by really fast. i was definitely not complaining though. being in the same building as daniel is not something i wanted to do.
the bell rang for lunch. i wasn't happy about that either. i mean, no one wants to sit alone.
the food options were gross, so i just grabbed an apple and sat down at a table.
"hey loner. mind if i sit with you?" a voice said.
i turned around and saw peter.
"of course not. sit down." i said with a huge smile on my face.
i won't bore you with every detail, but we just talked. for what seemed like hours, but was really only 30 minutes. he told me about his hopes and dreams. he said he wanted to be a doctor. i know, every kid says that. but the way peters face lit up talking about it, and the way his eyes looked while starring at me, it was different. you could tell he was so passionate about it. i talked to him about my family, and about my hopes and dreams. things got really deep in such a short time. i didn't mention daniel though. i'm just not ready to talk about him..
the bell rang.
"wow that was a long lunch." peter said laughing. "thankyou for talking with me bree. it was nice."
"of course, and thankyou for talking with me too. i don't really have friends, so it was great to be able to talk to someone." i said.
peter smiled and looked at the ground.
"well its your lucky day then, because you just made a friend." he said smiling.
he took a piece of scrap paper and a pen out of his backpack.
"this is my number. text me whenever." he said handing me the paper.
"i'll see you later bree."
"see you around peter."
