the school day was normal. to me, the whole day was normal. but peter kept reminding me how "special" it was. i disagreed.
Peter 12:08 pm : Be ready. I'm taking you out to dinner tonight. I'll be there at 7 pm. No isn't an answer.
Bree 12:09 pm : okay "mom". but where are we going?? i'm excited (:
Peter 12:11 pm : You'll have to waitttttt!
SKSKSKSSKSKSL IM SO EXCITED..
i was thinking about tonight all day. i looked at the clock every 2 minutes in every class.
finally. 2:30pm. i walked out of my spanish class and i walked towards the doors.
"hey bree." a familiar voice said.
i turned around, right before opening the door and see daniel. i feel like i stared at him forever. every emotion i was feeling the past 2 months came rushing to the surface. i couldn't find the strength to say anything, so i just stood there. looking at the boy who crushed my world. the boy who broke my heart.
"you look great b. happy birthday." daniel said to me.
i looked at him and turned around. i walked out the doors and headed straight for the bus. what just happened? i thought i was over it..
i got home still trying to figure out what the hell happened. i went straight to my mom and told her what happened.
"i just thought i was over it mom. why did seeing him hurt me so much?" i asked.
"bree, you gave daniel 2 years of your life. you loved him so much, and that type of love consumed you. he hurt you, and he broke you. i don't know if you could ever get over that honey. i'm sure you can move on, and eventually forget it. but i don't think anyone can fully heal from that kind of pain."
i just stood there. i can't believe those words came out of my moms mouth. she was right..
"thankyou mom.. everything you said was true. i need to get over it."
"i'm always here for you. soooo what did you say to peter?" my mom said.
"woah woah woah, that was a very fast subject change. also, how did you know peter asked me for dinner?" i asked curiously.
"he asked me for permission bree."
"aww oh my god, he's so cute. what a dork." i said laughing.
"see how quickly your mood shifts when i bring up peter?" my mom added. "he makes you happy, doesn't he?"
i rolled my eyes sarcastically. "yes mom. he does."
"then forget about stupid daniel. he was never good enough for you."
"i love you mom." i said.
"i love you too. now, lets go figure out what you're gonna wear tonight!!" she said.
this is it. it's finally my time to be happy.
