Gray and Liz Have Chemistry! What the Hell?

chapter twenty one

After tumbling and rolling down the cliff, Elizabeth finally made it to the bottom. She found Gray passed out on the hard, cold ground.

I'm so sorry, Gray. I'm so I could save you. She blinked her tears away, seeing as Natsu walked up to them, too.

"Get up, Gray." Natsu kicked him, and Gray opened his eyes to look at the two fire mages above him.

"Natsu, Liza. . .what are you doing?"

"Man, you're lame, getting your butt kicked so bad. . ." Natsu giggled, and Liz kicked him.

"Don't be mean!"

"I don't know which way the village is, so I came back up to see. It's that way! C'mon, let's go!"

Liz helped Gray up, and hugged him tightly.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't save you. I tried, I did. I beat Lyon up a bit." She let him go, but held his arm.

"It's okay." She tried to help him walk. "Wait. . .! I can't walk." Gray assured her, "where's Lyon?"

"No idea. No one was over here, and the ceremony was over." Natsu said,

Gray tried to take a step, but tripped, and Liz grabbed his arms.

"Get on my back." She turned around.

"But, Liza--!"

"Just do it!" She yelled, and he sighed.

Gray obliged, jumping on her back. He was a little heavy, but not much. Gray wrapped his arms around her neck, head resting on her head. She held his legs tightly, giving him a 'piggyback ride'.

"Damn! It'll be our fault if they go after Lucy." Natsu said, walking forward.

"Natsu. . ." Gray said, memories of Ur flowed his mind. "Liza. . ."

"Yeah?"

"I am in no place to criticize you. . .no place at all. . ." He started to cry, and Liz's heart broke.

"Quit feeling sorry for yourself just because you lost! We're members of Fairy Tail! The guild that doesn't know how to stop! The only way we can live is to keep running!" Liz yelled at him, and he stopped crying. At least, she thought so.

"She's right, Gray. We keep going forward. Don't let that one loss get to you." Natsu told him, and continued on forward.

(natsu said something smart oops).

"It'll be okay, Gray." Liz smiled at him.

Gray smiled back, too, but started to cry again. Tears fell down his face, soaking Liz's hair. She felt bad for him. She hated seeing him so depressed.

I won't let Lyon get his way, Gray, I promise. She thought, and continued on.
