Delilah walked through the halls of the apartment complex she grew to know.  She could feel her heart beating out of her chest and the palm of her hands getting sweaty as she got to the familiar door.

She lifted her hand up, inches from the door. She seemed hesitant at first but took a deep breath in and out and knocked her fist against the hard door. After a couple of seconds, it was pulled opened, revealing a very happy but tired looking Aunt May. "Delilah? I'm happy to see you but it's 7:30 in the morning, what doing here so early?"

The young agent smiled at the older woman, playing with her fingers. "I just got back in town and I wanted to say hi to Peter before he goes to school." Aunt May nodded her head and pointed towards their apartment's hallway, "He should be getting ready, you can go see him." The older Parker stood to the side to let Delilah in. She walked down the small hallway till she reached his door, slowly raising her fist and gently knocking it.

"Don't worry May, I'm getting ready." The sound of his voice causing her heart to leap. "I—It's not May." She could then hear shuffling on the other side of the door, along with sound of something crashing.  The door then swung open, Delilah's hazel eyes met Peter's widened, brown eyes.  "Delilah?  W-what are you d-doing here?"

"How am I going to tell him that I've been on Earth for two weeks and the only reason I'm right in front of him right now is because Coulson put me on a mission to watch over him." She thought to herself.  "I'm just visiting here for a little bit and I wanted to see you."  Blush formed on the Parker boy's cheeks as he glanced down at the ground then back to Delilah.  "That's g-great.  I m-missed you."

"I missed you too." Delilah replied, a smile on her lips.  "O-oh come in." He stood to the side of the door way to give her some space to let her in.  When she was in his room, he slowly closed the door and locked it.

Delilah walked over and sat the edge of his bed, Peter taking a seat next to her. "S-so, how have you been?" He asked her, their eyes staring into each other. "I've been okay, haven't been doing much lately." "Other than interrogating every Adrian we could find, hoping one of them is the guy who is selling alien tech."

"That's good." He nodded, an awkward silence overcoming the two of them. "What about you? I went to see Coulson and the others before I came here and they said you withdrew from SHIELD. Why?"  Peter shrugged his shoulders, tearing his gaze away from the young agent and played with his hands.  "The only reason I really stayed in SHIELD was because of you and after you left I just decided to focus more on impressing Mr. Stark and becoming an Avenger."

"Is everything you know—" His words got caught in his throat.  "—good in Asgard?  Did anyone hurt you?"  Delilah smiled at the concern tone of his voice. "Yeah of course, why do think something is wrong?"

"Because, to be honest when you left—I thought that would be the last time I saw you." He admitted. "Yeah. Me too." The room was then silent until they heard May's voice on the other side of the door. "Peter, hurry up! You're going to be late for school!"

Peter's eyes widened and he shot up from his bed, grabbing his backpack. "Shit, I got to go!" He pulled the door open turned back to Delilah who stood up from his bed. "Talk to you later?" Delilah nodded, flashing him a small smile. "Yeah, totally. I'll talk to you after school."  She watched as Peter gave her a quick smile before leaving his room.

A sigh from fell from Delilah's lips as she brought her hand up to rub her forehead.  "This mission is going to be harder than I thought."

"What the hell is this?" Delilah exclaimed as she stared at the backpack filled with textbooks that was placed in front of her.

"Coulson wants you to attend Peter's school so that you can keep an eye on him. That is your mission." May explained and Delilah let out a frustrated groan. "You did tell Peter about your mission, right?"

Delilah made an 'ehhh' sound as she pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear and ripped her eyes away from May's intimidating ones.  "W-well it didn't really come up." May crossed her arms over her chest and stared at her student, disappointment clearly on her face. "Delilah—" She began to scold but Delilah quickly interrupted her.  "I was scared to tell him!  Like can you imagine how he would've felt if I said that I've been here for two weeks and the only reason I'm seeing him is basically because I have to babysit him!" She quickly rambled before taking a deep a breath.

"So, what did you tell him?" May asked, approaching the girl with her arms still crossed.  "I told him that I just came back to visit and I missed him.  Which is partially true so technically I'm not entirely lying."  Delilah stared at her supervising officer with an 'it's not so bad' look.

Delilah then sat down on the edge of her bed and let out a loud sigh, "I know..." Her head hung low. "I'm a terrible person." She felt her bed slowly sink beside her and an arm wrapped around her shoulders. "You're not a terrible person. But, Peter is going to find out sooner or later, and it will only make things worse if you just wait it out."

The young agent nodded, agreeing with her. "Yeah, you're right. I'll tell him after he is done with school." "You mean when you guys are done with school." May said more in a confirmation tone than a questioning one, placing the backpack full of textbooks on Delilah's lap.

May then pulled out a folded piece of paper out of her pocket and handed it to her, "This is your school's class schedule.  Simmons managed to set up your classes to be the same as Peter's so that you can always keep an eye on him."  A groan shot out of Delilah's mouth as she fell back on her bed, lifting her hands to rub her face.  "What am I going to say to him when he sees me?  I literally told him just an hour ago that I'm just visiting, and now I'm going to his school!  He's gonna think I'm a liar."

"Well, you are a liar." May stated, smirking at the girl who sat up from her bed with an annoyed look on her face.  "Not funny.  I'll just say I missed the school, that's a good excuse right?"

A laugh fell from May's lips as she shook her head. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll figure something out."  She reassured her. Delilah took a deep breath before standing up, "After school, I'm going to take him here and tell him everything with you guys, so you know, you guys can stop me if I try to chicken out." May nodded, agreeing with her. "Sounds like a plan."

Delilah grabbed her backpack, groaning a bit as she rolled her eyes. "Time to go to school then." May smirked at her student's attitude, following the girl out of her room.

"I'll drive you."

- author's note -
Omg! I love Delilah and May's relationship! Get ready for some heartbreak in the next chapter, I'm sorry but it is necessary for this book's story. But don't worry, in the end it'll all be worth it. I promise you!
