Back to School

26 15 5

It's the time of year,
Where parents send their children
To school, they may shed a tear,
They suddenly have an empty den.

Send them away
Off to school,
No choice to stay,
To be honest that's not cool.

Kindergarten is a first.
The night before school starts,
Younglings are about to burst,
To them school has no bad parts.

The rest of elementary school,
For most students of this age,
Becomes less and less cool.
No longer a rage.

Off to middle school they go,
Smiles slowly fading.
All the school bags in tow,
Prepared for harsher grading.

High school now looms ahead,
Frowns begin to appear,
They'd all prefer to stay in bed
But alas, the end is near.

Finally the end has arrived
It's graduation day.
They'll no longer be deprived
Of sleep in that "finals way."
