Assumptions

This is a poem about stereotypes, like every single other poem in this book, don't take it too seriously. Please do vote and comment, I love seeing your feedback! I hope you enjoy!

I'm going to touch on an issue,
That's rather large at hand.
However it's not all bad,
Without it, humor may be kinda bland.

Now listen closely, hear my words
Stereotypes you see,
They affect me and you...
But... mostly me.

I am from a planet,
Far, far away.
You may call me an alien,
But I'm on earth to stay.

People are quick to assume,
About the way I act.
No I don't eat human flesh,
That's a simple fact.

Supposedly I'm evil,
My technology is bad,
Apparently I have three tongues,
These assumptions make me mad.

To live on earth,
I had to give away my alien form
So I could act normal,
And conform to the human norm.

So please stop making guesses,
Based on looks alone.
Origins are not defining,
Neither is skin tone.

I ask for this because,
It really isn't fun,
When you're the target of the giggles,
It happens a ton.

So please stop with these stereotypes,
It's really rather rude.
Instead just buy me flowers,
It'll really improve my mood.
