I just watched Teen Wolf and all I can say is WHOA! I've been missing out on stuff. I'm very surprised at how some of the stuff I've plotted is almost parallel to what I have written and planned so far with Omega.
1. Alpha Peter - both nut cases. Teen Wolf has a more evil version though. But they're both cunning and smile a lot. In fact, Peter of Teen Wolf fits my image of what Peter is in my story.
2. Banshee - I didn't get the comments about Lydia and Miki until I watched the show. Yes I had planned more into developing Miki's supernatural link to death.
3. Druids - In my story druids were working in packs (werewolf or normal human) until they grew useless and got replaced. They filled the position of wise women/men.
4. Herbs and trees - Reading Tamora Pierce's circle of magic, I've been in awe at her attention to detail from gemstone magical properties, herbs and even metal in her stories. I wanted to do the same in mine. I might not be able to do extensive research unlike the screenwriters of Teen Wolf but I hope I'll be able to deliver.
5. Omegas - I interpreted Omegas to be more than rogues or outcasts. I've patterned my omegas after outcasts in royal families such as the legend of the man in the iron mask. They could be deformed family members or someone that could pose a problem to the royal family such as man in the iron mask. So basically there two categories of Omegas in mine, those who are abused because they are weak or those intentionally being suppressed and abused because they're a threat.
So I'm at season 3 episode 20 and wow this show is the bomb! I think some of my plots I have planned will match some of the plots in Teen Wolf. I just hope it won't look like I'm plagiarizing the series though now that I've seen it.
