After crying for what felt like a week, I finally stopped. Link held me tightly, saying nothing as we sat by Zant's body. I slowly blinked and wiped my tears, staring at Zant. "Link," I said hoarsely. He looked up worriedly. "I'm ready to go." I whispered standing, he followed with a nod. "Alright (Y/n)." I looked at Zant's body and then to Midna. "What will happen to him?" I asked her. Midna shrugged. "I don't know, maybe they'll throw him off the side I don't—"
"Teleport him to the river bank?" I asked hopefully. "Please?" My voice cracked. "It was the first place we met."

Midna sighed and nodded, flying forward and doing as I asked. I looked around the throne room with a sigh. "I've never been in here." I said quietly. Midna opened a portal for Link and I. "That's because you never needed to." I nodded and looked at Midna. "Now, the last thing we need to do is revive Zelda." She said slowly. I grunted in agreement. "Then it'll all be over and—"
"And I'll get to return home." I said softly, my face cracking a teeny smile.

Link's face fell and he nodded. "Ah, yes." He cleared his throat as I looked at him. "You can always visit, we have the mirror now!" I said hopefully, Link sighing in relief. "Yes, I guess you're right." He said and took my hand as we were teleported to the mirrors entrance. With one last look of the world I loved, I saw the people I grew up with. They were staring at me with wide eyes as I nodded. "Zant is dead." I declared, seeing some collapse in relief. "And your princess will be home soon, I promise." With that I squeezed Link's hand and entered the mirror.

We came out of the other side, I sighed softly as my hair cascaded down my back. I needed to braid it soon. The night sky hung heavy as my heart, but looking at Link, I smiled softly. "Zant," Midna began slowly. "Was a puppet for Ganondorf. He needed Zant to get him out of the Twilight Realm." She said quietly looking at me. I frowned and nodded. "I feared as much." I whispered and growled. "How could I have been so stupid?" I asked her. "I could've stopped this. I could've stopped him." Midna took my arms in her small hands.

"(Y/n), I don't think there was anything you could've done." She murmured, wiping away my tears. "I know you don't think that." Midna said. "But he was too far gone. Zant saw what his future was. It was to die by your hands." I choked out a sob. "And he saw what he was doing in the end." I nodded and wiped away my tears myself. "I know we never talked, well rarely anyway, but when this is all over... would you like to build up the friendship you and Zant had? Together?" I looked at Midna— my princess— and nodded my head, smiling softly. "Yes." I said nodding and hugging her. "Yes, Princess." Midna scoffed and pushed me away. "Wow, don't start with formalities now." She said as I softly giggled. Midna then looked to Link who stood awkwardly to the side.

"Since that's all settled, how about we go and save princess Zelda? I'm sure she's in grave danger because of Ganondorf!" I looked at Link and smiled. "You ready?" I asked as he looked over me. "Yeah. But, how about we take a rest?" I thought for a moment and nodded. "Yeah. I'm pretty sure it's safe here, so we won't need to take any shifts." At this, Link and I set up camp and laid down to sleep. I wrestled with my hair and finally fell asleep to Link stroking my hair. Odd though, I thought. I thought Link was on the opposite side of the fire.

"Midna? Thanks for braiding my hair." I said as we ate breakfast. She looked at me confused, my hair was neatly braided into a bun with a braided rose beside it. It was lovely, like the way Zant would braid my hair. "I thought Link did that?" She questioned looking at the blonde. Link quickly shook his head and swallowed what he was eating. "I can't even cut hair." He said and I blinked. "Well, I can't braid this well." The three of us were confused on who came into our camp just to braid my hair.

Link and I walked into Castle Town, people stared at me in horror as I walked. I probably looked pretty scary. We walked through the gates of Hyrule castle, stopping before the barrier. Midna came out with a sigh. She turned to us to say something, but the Fused Shadow came out. It trapped her in, Link looked at Midna worried. "Princess?" I whispered walking up to her. Midna was suddenly thrown against the wall. She was thrown against it again, and again before Midna was flung over the wall.
