Part 23 (Olivia and Mevia)

Olivia

"Alright, here's the portal!" Radar called. Olivia looked up at him as he pointed to it, urging others to enter. She focused her gaze on Axel who was a few paces ahead of her. He hadn't spoken to her since their kiss. Did he just do that for attention? Was he embarrassed?

She folded her arms and stared at the ground.

"Are you alright?"

Olivia looked up and saw Ellegard standing there. 

"Yeah. Sorry, I'm just thinking."

"About?"

She hesitated, and glanced up at Axel. 

"Oh, I get it." Ellegard said, "That was a really smooth move he pulled earlier, but he hasn't talked to you and you're scared he has regrets or something."

Olivia gaped. Mind reading much? She continued, "Don't have any doubts. He likes you. I know it. He just thinks you didn't like that he went beyond the friend-zone, and he's scared he screwed up your friendship."

"But I didn't want to be 'just friends' either." She said with air quotations, "I just had a moment of shock, and I think I hurt his feelings."

Ellegard put a hand on Olivia's shoulder, "That sounds like something you should tell him, not me." 

"Thanks Ellegard." 

"Anytime." Ellegard nodded confidently to Olivia and she smiled weakly back. Looks like Ellegard wasn't going to let her procrastinate.

Olivia sighed and approached her crush. He went through the portal and she followed behind.  They were now with many other people in the portal network. "Axel?"

He jumped and turned to face her, "Oh, hey Liv. Umm.. What's up dude?"

Well, if things weren't awkward before, they definitely were now.

"I wanted to talk to you about earlier.. I know you probably just had a spur of the moment, you know-kissing a nerdy, goody-two shoes girl like me-"

"You mean beautiful clever girl? The girl I've loved ever since I laid my eyes on her when we were six?"

Olivia gaped. Axel blushed and continued, "I've always had feelings for you, I just didn't know how to say it. Every single day I regret going to prom with Jesse and not you, not that she's un-cool or whatever, but she wasn't the one."

"Really? That's how I felt with Jess. Things just weren't the same with him as they were with you. Especially for the fact that the entire time he was drooling over Petra. Talking about her nonstop. That was a week after he met her."

Axel laughed, "I remember that. The good old times."

"Alright, that's everyone, let's keep going!" Aiden called out, and they followed the others.

"Yeah, well Jesse and I were pretty much the same. She didn't have a crush at the time, she thought Lukas was a jerk then, but I was the one drooling and talking nonstop about you. I bet I drove her crazy. She told me that I had to tell you how I felt. It didn't exactly happen though,"

Olivia laughed, "I guess this explains why the one time we danced with each other that night you were so.. shy. Nervous."

"So, are you alright with this dumb sack of potatoes in sandals?"

Olivia laughed again, "No. But I am alright with my funny tough guy in sandals." She jumped up to wrap her arms around his neck, "My turn." She kissed him and they blushed wildly as he placed his hands on her waist to keep her from sliding down.
