"I am ready to talk," Bailey exclaimed.
"What? Are you sure? It's only been one week!" I cried.
"I am positive. Aren't you ready? It might help if you open up. We went through it together, so let's talk about it together," Bailey suggested.
"I am okay with talking, but I almost feel guilt for speaking up," I babbled.
"You should never feel guilty for someone else's wrong doings. He was in the wrong Halley, not us," Bailey stated as she gave me a reassuring hug.
"I know I shouldn't but I cannot help but to feel this way. I definitely don't wan Ethan nor Aiden to dislike me for telling the jury what their Father done," I muttered as sadness started to overcome my body.
Bailey and I both turn to the door as we hear a knock. Ethan and Aiden stood in the doorway, as the door slowly creaked open.
"We overheard you two talking, as we were heading down stairs," Aiden exclaimed.
"It's okay y'all can come in," I insisted.
"I understand where your coming from, but please don't feel guilty for what our Father done to you two. We want to get on the stand and talk about it too," Ethan mentioned.
"Really? Y'all want to talk about what happened in front of the jury?" I asked.
"Of course we do. He was keeping us their on the island, while he was at home drinking. He was and still is a sorry Father. We both don't want you two to feel alone in this," Aiden replied.
"Your Dad said we can talk whenever your both ready. It will help the judge to give him his rightful punishment he deserves," Ethan stated.
"Tell Dad we are ready to talk. How about we do it first thing in the morning, while our memories are still fresh?" I insisted.
"Sounds good to me!" Ethan stated.
"Me too!" Aiden shouted.
"Then it's final, tomorrow morning we will tell everyone, everything," I insisted.
It felt really good to know that Ethan and Aiden, will be gettin on the stand to talk as well. Mr. Jacob deserves to do jail time for life, but I know the crime he committed is not compared to murder. Maybe if we tell our stories, he can get more time. After we all talked about going up on the stand, we group hugged and went down stairs. Dad and Mom were helping each other do dishes downstairs.
"Mom. Dad." I exclaimed, startling my parents.
"Oh my goodness," Mom screamed as she jumped.
"Sorry Mom, but we have something to tell y'all," I announced, as I looked over at Bailey.
"We are ready to talk about what happened," Bailey exclaimed.
"You positive you two are ready for this?" Dad asked looking at us.
Bailey and I both looked at each other and nodded our heads.
"Yes sir," I stated.
"Let me make a phone call," Dad uttered as he pulled his phone out and walked away.
"Hello?"
"Hello is this the Sheriff?" Dad asked.
"Yes sir it is," the Sheriff replied.
"This is Luke. Father of the twin sisters who got kidnapped. They are ready to talk sir," Dad explained.
"Indeed they are. The judge says she will be free Monday morning at ten o'clock sharp," the Sheriff stated.
"Yes sir that is perfect. We will be their," Dad mentioned.
"Have a good day," the Sheriff mumbled as he hung up the phone.
"Wow that was sooner than I thought," Dad spoke out loud.
"How soon?" I asked.
"Monday at ten we will go to the court house," Dad explained.
"Yes sir, we will be ready in the morning at nine," I exclaimed.
After eating dinner and getting our baths over with, we all went to bed early, for the big day ahead of us. The next morning we woke up extra early. We ate breakfast together and dressed up in church clothes. When everyone got dressed and ready, we headed off to the court house. When we arrived, it was a four story building that was white, and it had a large staircase. Police cars and police officers surrounded the building. I swallowed hard as we walked in the front doors. The roof was very high, with a beautiful chandelier in the middle. There was many doors on each side of the hallway and their was a staircase leading upstairs. Everyone was in their fancy clothes.
"Name?" One of the security guards asked.
"Mr. Luke," Dad replied.
"Ah yes! Room 112 on the right, up the stairs," the security guard explained.
"Yes sir thank you," Dad told the security guards.
We all followed Dad up the stairs and to the room. The doors were still open, which meant we were early. We walked in the room and sat down. The room had rows of benches split into two sides of the room. Their was no windows in the room either. It was also very quiet. In the front were two desks for each person to sit across from. Their was a part where the jury would sit at. In the center of the room, the highest desk, was for the judge. She walked out of the door behind her desk and sat down. She tapped twice and the doors on the right opened up. About 20 minutes of talking to each other, Mr. Jacob walked in, handcuffed with two guards on each side of him.
