The next day, I woke up and I was still in the hospital. It seems like every time I go to sleep, I hope that I will wake up at home, but I always end up here. After my eyes had adjusted, I began to look around the room. No one was here, not even Bailey. I was hoping to see her first but, instead I got a nurse.
"Hello ms. Halley, how are you feeling?" The nurse asked me, walking through the door.
"Hello, I'm doing just fine. Much better today!" I said, responding quickly.
"That's great news, I'm going to check your vitals and the doctor will be in here soon. You might be able to go home today," she explained the good news to me.
"Thank you so much!" I replied, watching her leave my room.
After the nurse had left, I grabbed the phone and dialed mom and Dad's number. It rung a few times, before someone finally picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey mom, it's Halley! The doctor might release me today. He should be coming in my room soon," I exclaimed.
"Whoa slow down honey. I'll send Bailey to come get you, she has not been out her room since she found out about Ethan. Oh and his funeral will be this weekend at noon. So you will have plenty of time to rest before then," mom explained, trying to cheer me up.
"Sounds good I guess. See you soon! Love you," I replied, hanging the phone up. Since the doctor was walking in my room.
"Hello again. I just wanted to inform you that your vitals are looking much better since the first time you came here. I will be giving you a subscription for the headaches you have been having. Also, I will be needing you to take some iron pills, as your iron was really low. And if anything gets worse, come see me immediately. If everything works out great, then come back in two months for a checkup. But your free to go, as soon as you sign these forms," the doctor explained, making sure I am feeling better.
"Thank you so much doctor! I feel a whole lot better now. Besides these sharp shooting headaches. My sister is on her way to get me now. Thanks a lot," I replied, stretching out of bed.
"Your welcome, but just keep an eye on your body for a few days. Try to notice any changes if you can. Take one tablet twice a day, morning and nights for the headaches. And take one tablet one time a day for your iron. If you have any more problems come see us," the doctor collected the forms and shook my hand, as he exited the room.
I stripped down and put on some regular clothes, while I waited for Bailey to get me. I turned off the television and tried to clean up the room for the nurses that helped me. Before I was done, Bailey walked through the doors.
"Hey sista! I hope this is the last time we have to go to a hospital," Bailey laughed.
"Me too girl," I replied grabbing my bags and paperwork.
"Hey I'll hold that for you," Bailey said taking the paperwork out of my hand.
"I need to drop off my prescriptions at the pharmacy before we go home," I exclaimed.
"Sure thing," she sighed a little, looking over the paperwork.
We eventually reached the car, as Bailey helped me with my bags. We loaded up and drove away from the hospital. Honestly, I never wanted to go back to that place ever again. We dropped off my medicine and headed home. It has been about a week or two since I have been away from home. But everything has changed since then. Unfortunately, we lost a family member to cancer.
"Hey everyone, I'm home!" I shouted walking through the doors.
My voice echoed all through out the house, almost as if it was empty. The curtains were closed and there was no lights on anywheres. It was dark and depressing. I was expecting something different than this, but I never expected my home to feel like this. You do not want your home to be sad or depressing, you want it to be happy and positive. A place where you feel loved and welcomed. So the moment I walked inside, I wanted to run away as far as I can from my own home.
"Hello dear," dad said interrupting my thoughts.
"Hey dad, what's going on?" I asked.
"We was having some people outside trying to take pictures of us. With Ethan passing away, you in the hospital, and all. Everyone wanted to know what was going on, so we turned off everything and made it look like we were sleeping or not home," dad explained and I almost felt bad for asking.
"Oh okay. Sorry for asking I just didn't know," I replied.
"It's alright, Aiden has been waiting for you," dad said, helping Bailey with my bags.
I quickly ran upstairs to Aiden's room. I knocked on the door, and he was laying on his bed looking at the ceiling. Until I came in, and messed his day dreaming up.
"Hey Aiden, I'm home finally!" I exclaimed.
"I see that I'm glad your back. I was starting to miss you a little," He giggled.
"Just a little?" I asked joking with him.
"Yeah just a little bit," he replied.
"I'm sorry about Ethan, I wish I could of saw him before we went to sleep," I spoke softly.
"It's okay honestly, we knew this day was coming," he sighed.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Of course anything," he replied sitting up in the bed.
"Did you ever know about Mitchell?" I asked, hoping he knew something. I do not want to bring that topic up so soon to mom.
"The only thing I know is that he would of have two great little sisters," Aiden said leaning in for a hug. We sat there for ten minutes just hugging each other.
Sorry for the late update, let me know what you think.
