Chapter 10

Cato's P.o.v.

The second day of training is half  over and next is the individual session. Today we didn't make much. All we did  was just practice and laugh. Marvel made some really good jokes about Fire Girl and her poor district. I swear I will kill that chick. We are at the same table enjoying the food.

'I have a question....' Marvel begins when Glimmer was out of sight. 'Are you guys dating?'

'No. Of course not!'Clove says.

'I think we are! Why?'I say.

'Glimmer will not be happy about it!' Marvel continues. What? Glimmer? What's her problem?

'What the hell?! Why?' I ask.

'She likes you, Cato! She told me that she wants you bad. And I told her that maybe you guys are dating and she said she will kill Clove if it's real...' Marvel answers.

'Well... I will not let her hurt Clove!'I say.

'How nice of you...Fuck you! I'm not weak and i can kill her myself. And I will.' 

'Ok...You can kill her if you want! But I will have Fire Girl.'

'Ok' she says with a smile.

'Please...don't kill her! If you kill her I will be...'

'I knew it! You love her!' Clove cuts him off. 'Well...I don't care if you do!' Clove laughs.

'Yeah, I love her! Kill her and I'll...'

'What? Will you  kill me? Go ahead...I can easily beat you.' she says confident.

'Okay! You're the first on my kill list!'

'It's over! You will not kill each other! Okay? We need to kill her.' I interrupt pointing towards Katniss.

'Whatever..' Clove says.

'What are you doing ,guys?' Glimmer asks when she comes back.

'We were talking about District 12.' I say.

'Great then!' she says exited.

We ate  lunch and now  we are waiting for the private session in the waiting room. All of the tributes are gathered in here. This reminds me of the training evaluation from home. The trainers have evaluated every student and then make pairs by the scores. I got the highest score  and and I remember Clove got the highest too because she made pair with me. Since then we were a pair in training. We met for the first time there, after the time when I used to make fun of her. And I changed my mind about her.

The first person called is Marvel, then Glimmer ....and then me. I kiss Clove wishing her good luck. I arrive in the big training room and the head gamemaker, Seneca Crane, asks about me so I say:

'Cato Hadley,District 2'

He says that I can begin my <number> . I take a sword and stab all of the dummies, all of them in the heart. Then, I cut them into pieces. All around me turned into a mess.

'I want to show you some hand to hand combat.' I say and the crew member came to fight with me. As always, I beat him up, after he tried to strangle me.

'Thank you, Cato! You can go now.' Seneca says.

'Thank you for your consideration.'

I get to our apartment. I went to my room to take a shower. After training this is all I want. The shower is really weird here. It has lights and some bunch of buttons with letters on them. Elsa told me about some of them, but I only use one of them. When I'm done I get changed in some jeans and a  tee shirt. Dinner is in 5 minutes so I better go.
