Chapter 8

Kenzie pov

"Kenz who is this guy?" Johnny asks.

"Mackenzie didn't tell you?" Brandon laughed, "me and Mack go way back."

I cringe at the awful nickname.

"Well it was horrible seeing you Brandon but we have to go," I say as I try to walk away.

"Wait Mack not so fast," Brandon says as walks in front of me, "don't you think your 'boyfriend' over here should know our history."

"No he's good," I roll my eyes.

"So me and Mack over here used to date at camp," Brandon explains, "we were really living it up at camp. We used to drink, smoke, and we fucked... a lot. Actually Mackenzie over here lost her virginity to me."

"No I didn't you ass!" I exclaim, "Johnny lets go."

I start to walk away but Brandon grabs my wrist, "did you miss me babe," he says as he starts kissing me.

"Brandon get off," I yell.

"Get away from her," Johnny says firmly.

Brandon turns around to look at Johnny still grabbing my wrist, "or what," he grins.

"Or I'll do this," Johnny says as he punches Brandon right in the jaw.

"Thank you Johnny," I run as I give him a hug.

"Let's get out of here," he whispers.

"Oh common dude," Brandon laughs, "why'd you have to do that."

And before I know it Brandon punches Johnny.

"Oh my gosh," I scream, "Brandon stop!"

"He shouldn't have started this," Brandon says as he starts to beat Johnny up.

"Brandon please stop," I say almost in tears.

Brandon continues to punch Johnny.

"I said stop," I yell as I kick him in the ass.

Brandon falls onto the ground and Johnny quickly stands up.

"What the fuck Mackenzie," Brandon screams.

"John lets go," I say and we both start running as fast as we can.

We don't stop running till we reach the the house.

"Are you okay," I say as we slow down.

"I have a black eye, but everything else is good," Johnny says turning his face around.

"Johnny you're bleeding," I point out.

"It's okay," he says.

"Johnny I feel horrible, I'm so sorry," I apologize.

"For what," he smiles, "you saved me kenz, thank you."

"You saved me too," I smiled back and I give him a hug.

"The others are going to wonder where I got this black eye from," Johnny sighs.

"Don't worry, makeup will do the trick," I grin.

"Oh god," Johnny laughs, "lets go inside."

"Do you have the keys?" I ask.

"Fuck," he groans.

"Oh my gosh, we are so dumb," I sigh.

"We can climb that tree," Johnny points to a tree, "I always use that when I sneak in and out. Will you be able to climb it?"

I scoff, "of course, I've climbed trees before. Let's go."

Johnny starts climbing and he reaches the top he pushes himself onto the roof, "your turn," he whispers, not wanting to wake the others up.

I start climbing the tree, it takes me a few minutes to reach the first branch. Wow this harder than I thought.

"Let me guess you've never climbed a tree before," Johnny laughs.

"You caught me," I groan as I reach for the next branch, "this is so hard."

Johnny reaches his hand out, I roll my eyes, "you think you can pull me up?"

"I know I can," Johnny grins.

I give him my hand and he starts to pull me up but then my weight pulls him forward which causes him to fall and bring me down.

Before we know it, we are on the ground.

"Ow," I say expressionless.

Johnny looked me and we both started laughing.

"Are you okay?" He asks as he brushes my hair from my face

"I'm fine," I say with a smile.

We both are looking into each other's eyes, like time has stopped. I find myself wanting to kiss him again.

After a few minutes Johnny breaks eye contact, "oh my gosh I forgot we have spare keys under the rug."

"What are you waiting for," I grin, "lets go."

As we walk inside I feel like such an idiot for wanting to kiss Johnny, he's like a brother to me. Where are all of these feelings coming from?
