{Ren's POV}
I was glamorized next to Jace.
"Can you two please de-glamorize so my best friend doesn't think I'm going crazy?" Clary snapped and I suddenly was standing there next to Jace, hands in my pockets of my leather jacket. "Who in the holy hell are you?!" Simon yelped and I looked at him and rolled my eyes.
"I'm Ren Fairchild. I'm Clary's older sister by 3 years." I said and he flinched and I rolled my eyes and looked at Jace who snorted.
"And who are you?" Simon asked. "We don't have time for this." I said in a sing-song voice. "Let's go." Jace said and I walked into the church, with Jace and Clary on my heels.
Simon walked in and looked around. "Okay. So it's a church." He said and I looked at him, my eyes narrowed as I drew a rune on my arm. I clamped my hand in Clary's and Jace did the same with Simon. Suddenly the doorway opened and I released Clary and walked into the Institution. I swiped a screen and Alec and Isabelle walked over.
"What is a mundane doing..." And I looked at Alec. "Please shut up." I said and he nodded. "Okay." He said and I nodded. "Finally. Now Jace and Clary go see Hodge. I'll come and meet you. Isabelle make sure Simon is comfortable. Alec, do your thing." I said and he looked at me.
"My thing?" He asked and I groaned. "That's what I mean you dumb idiot." I said and shoved him playfully as I walked after Clary and Jace. "You can't seriously be asking Hodge right?" I asked Jace.
"Is there any other way?" He asked. "I know but I hate to torture him." I said and he shook his head. "I'd love to say we had another choice but we don't." Jace said and I looked at him and nodded. "Okay. But I can't promise that I'll watch." I said and he nodded. "Okay. Good enough for me." Jace said and I saw Hodge.
"Hodge!" I called and he looked up. "Ren! Jace!..." He said and looked up. "Joceleyn..." And I looked at him and looked at Clary.
"I'm Clary Fray. My mother was Joceleyn Fray." And he looked at me. "I knew her as Joceleyn Fairchild." He said and I looked at him.
"Not now." I said and he looked at me. "We need to know about the Circle." Jace said and I turned away as Hodge began to burn, the mark of the Circle on his neck. I shut my eyes at the pain as I listened to him.
I felt him looking at me and I looked up at him, and caught him staring at me. I crossed my arms, my eyes burning with amber and flecks of green. "I'm sorry." I said and he nodded. "It had to be done."
He said and I had a bow and quivers over my shoulder. "I'll find Alec." I said and Jace nodded. "Go." He said and I raced off, pulling up my sleeve and grabbing my stele, drawing the rune of speed.
I found Alec. "Follow me." I said and he sighed. "Fine." He said and I nodded and looked at him. "I'm not asking you to trust Clary or even the mundane. But can you at least trust Jace and I? Please." I said and he nodded. "I'm sorry." He said and I shook my head. "You have every right to be suspicious of Clary, but I grew up with you Alec." I said.
He nodded and I hugged him with one arm and we raced off, meeting Simon, Isabelle, Clary, and Jace outside. We took Simon's van. "Dot."
I whispered and felt my stone glowing and I grimaced. "Circle Members have her." And I ran off, nocking an arrow in my bowstring.I pulled my bowstring back but the circle members were gone and so was Dot. "They have her. They have Dot." I whispered and looked at Clary who was terrified but was doing admirably well in hiding it.
"We'll find her. We have to." I said and put the arrow back in my quiver. "Ren how? Valentine was thought dead for so long. How are we going to find him?"
Jace asked and I looked at him. "He'll come for me. He believes I know where the Mortal Cup is and... I think I remember where it was." I said and they looked at each other.
"Did Joceleyn tell you anything before Dot sent you through the portal?" I asked, looking at Clary. "The only person you can trust is Luke." And I looked at my forearm.
"Who's Luke?" Alec asked.
"A police officer. But he used to be a Shadowhunter." I said and he looked at me. "He was bitten."
I said and he nodded.
"Who was he before?" Alec asked. "Lucian Graymark. Valentine's parabatai." I said quietly.
"He hates Valentine with a passion deeper then anyone could understand. That's why she sent you to the Police station." I said and Jace's right hand moved to his left arm where his rune was burning.
"What's wrong?" Alec asked. "Silver's in trouble. Valentine." Jace said and he nodded. "Who's Silver?" Clary asked and I looked up at her.
"My parabatai." Jace said and looked at me. "There's only one option left if we can't find Dot." I said and he smirked. "No way!" Alec snapped and Isabelle smiled. "It's a good idea." She said. "We've broken at least 8 Clave Rules, and now you want to go to the City of Bones?"
Alec said, his voice cold and serious. "Well we're not asking you to come."
Jace said and I cut a glance at him.
"I don't care about what this Clave thing says. If I need to go to this city to get my memories back, I'm going. If anyone has any other ideas or ways of getting my memories back, I'm open to ideas and listening."
Clary said and I looked at Jace and nodded. "I told you she was my sister and one of us." I said and clapped Alec on the shoulder as I walked past after Jace.
We got to the entrance and I exhaled heavily. "Follow me. Not you mundane. You'll die." Alec said and Simon looked at him. "Your bedside manner is abysmal."
He said and I shook my head. "There's a reason for it." I said and walked through the entrance, followed by Jace and Clary.
