I'm Y/N. Y/N L/N to be exact and I run an endangered wildlife foundation. I also work at a mental institution... recently I've been assigned a new patient.

I entered the room and found a man with a fro and neatly trimmed beard, his skin was...
I stifled a cry as soon as Y/N left. I wasn't good with emotions or letting them out. I wasn't good with talking—truth was, I'm not good at a lot of things. My slightly teary-eyes shifted to the small animal she had left me, the corners of my mouth raised slightly.
I struggled with my jacket and let out a huff. I concentrated on what I was doing, lifting my arms over my head. I winced lightly at the stretch but continued. When I was done I was free from the straight jacket, I panted from exhaustion.
I leaned on the desk, propping my chin with the palm of my hand. I grabbed the toy with my free hand and studied it, my eyes glimmering with curiosity. I curled my hand around the small dog, pulling it close to me in thought.
My thoughts were interrupted when one of the guards busted through the door. I hid the stuffed toy behind my back, glaring at the man. "Pfft—Relax. Dr. L/N decided to take you out on the town, I don't have a clue why—" he growled as he eyed me. "—But, Damn, would I pay to have a night with her." He purred as he winks at me.
I scoffed and he walked over to me, handcuffing my wrists. I sighed as he guided me out of the room and building. He lead me to a car where I found Y/N inside waiting for me.
The man took the cuffs off and sat me in the car, once we were in the clear Y/N drove off. I stared out the window in awe, it's been forever since I've been out of that crude place. The city sparked with bright lights and music, people roamed the streets and chatted loudly.
I found myself enveloped by devious scents. They swarmed around me and overwhelmed my nose. I shivered as a cold breeze hit me, I moved a stray curl from my face and focused on the different things.
"I didn't think you'd be so fascinated with the city." Y/N laughed, my cheeks heated in embarrassment. "Well, in my defense, I've been in there half my life." I stated. "I know, I've got your records." She mumbled.
"Hungry?" She asked softly, I turned to her and my eyebrows lifted in shock. She's much nicer than other Doctors I've had, that's for sure—and I've had tons..
Now that I thought about it I was starving, my stomach rumbled. I nodded meekly with a sheepish grin, she smiled broadly and came to a stop somewhere. She got out and walked around, opening the door for me as I stepped out cautiously—guards didn't surround the place and nobody interrogated me. Strange.
We walked inside the building and instantly my stomach roared, begging for something to eat—anything even. "You've never had a banger, correct? I've seen the things they serve you at that institution." Y/N mumbled.
"No. I haven't." I muttered. She nodded, "Two number 10's please." She told someone, they nodded with a grin. Before I knew it we were sitting a table as some food was brought to us. "This is what we call, 'fast-food'." She explained. I chuckled, "I may have spent half my life in that place, but, I know what fast-food is." I grinned, she flashed a sheepish smile before nodding and sipping her drink.

Y/N POV
When we were finished with the food I took Thomas clothes shopping, he looks like he could use some new clothes. He was currently in a dressing room trying on some clothes.
"I look stupid!" He groaned. "I'm sure you don't. Just come out already!" I laughed. I heard another groan of annoyance before Thomas came out, wearing what I had chosen out for him. He grumbled something as I shut smiled. "Oh c'mon, you look fine!" I exclaimed, he rolled his eyes.

"You look like a college graduate! It's cute." I teased. "Pfft—whatever." He murmured. "We'll take it!" I paid for the the clothes and we left, he sighed. "Why are you doing all this for me?" He asked.
"I want to know you on a personal level. I want to seem like a friend—not an outsider who's just throwing questions at you, Thomas." I explained as I kept my gaze on the road. "Oh." Was all he said, I glanced at him before parking .
He looked around and I saw panic rise in his cocoa eyes. "It's not another institution. This is my other job." I soothed, his tense frame relaxed and he nodded. We walked through the front gates and I guided him to where the Wolves were.
"We protect endangered species." I explained, he stared at the sock in curiosity. His brown eyes glimmering with admiration, it was rather amusing. "Do you wanna meet them?" I mused. He arched a brow, "Huh?" "I ask if you wanted to meet them. I run this foundation, So, we could walk in and you could get to know the pack." I explained. He smiled and nodded eagerly.
I unlocked the gate and showed him inside, shutting the gate quietly behind us. The pack instantly came running over and began to sniff around Thomas. "They're welcoming you to the pack, don't worry." I reassured, he nodded as he watched the wolves. Eventually they started to run around again, bounding everywhere as they pounced on one another.
"Keisha!" I called. Moments later a beautiful white wolf came padding over and sniffed at Thomas. When she was done inspecting him she turned to me and forced her head under my hand.
I laughed and had her head a small pat before standing up. "This is Keisha, Thomas. She's the alpha of this pack of wolves." I told him. "Intriguing..." he mumbled as he bent down to eye level with the canine, Keisha panted and licked his face.
"Aw—Gross!" He stood up and wiped his face. I laughed and handed him a napkin in which he gladly took, beginning to wipe the slobber off his face.

I was a little bummed when j had to take Thomas back but I'd see him tomorrow. They walked him inside as I pulled away and drove home. Hopefully Thomas at least had fun.

Thomas' POV
I laid down on the bed and stared at the ceiling in thought. My mind was swirling with questions but I ignored most. Eventually my eyes got heavy and I found myself dozing off, I didn't fight the urge and fell asleep.
