I notice Stephanie watching me through the reflection of the taxi window. Even through the glass, I can tell her cerulean eyes are sparkling with admiration. I hope she never stops looking at me this way. I've loved her since college. That's why I followed her to Nordstrom General Hospital after we graduated. I've never told her how I've felt. She's got a daughter. That means I'm clearly not her type. I'll get by with the way things have always been. She's my muse and I wouldn't risk losing her.
Photography has always been a passion of mine, and she is my favorite subject to shoot. I always drag her along wherever I go to take pictures. This is why she's here with me now in this winter wonderland. This snow, the landscape, and even the ghost town we are going to visit will all be beautiful scenes for my photos. As a New York native, I have taken many pictures of snow, but nothing this wild. Stephanie will look adorable all bundled up with mountains in the background.
We finally pull up to the motel. I grab my backpack then hold my hand out to help Stephanie exit. I pay our taxi driver and turn to walk into the double doors of the motel. We are about three hours early, but I don't mind. I'll use this time as an excuse to take some pictures of Stephanie in this homey little town.
