I'm sitting down in the motel lobby now. The time is roughly ten till seven. People should be walking in any minute now for the meet up. The first to pop in was Alex of course. She's the most eager to be here it seems. The others followed suit after her and started filling in. The only ones not here was the college boys. I'm somehow not surprised. The group and I wait another almost fifteen minutes before they all came rushing into the double doors to the motel still wearing their bags. We wait for them to check in before I let out a sigh and stand to get everyone's attention.

"Good evening everyone. I'm Todd. It's nice to finally meet you all in person. I've got a schedule for us all to keep. At dawn tomorrow, we will be ready down here in the lobby with our bags packed. We will all check out then we will use snowmobiles for our first leg of the journey. We will use them to reach our starting point. From there will will ditch the snowmobiles and start hiking. Our destination, Winter, is about five miles on the other side of where we will leave our transportation. It doesn't sound like a long distance, but the terrain, weather, and longer nights will make this trip a couple days each way. We will only go as fast as the slowest member and we will not travel after dark. We will stop each evening when the sun starts going down. There are three reasons for this. One is that we don't want to have to try to set up camp and start a fire after it's too dark to see. The second reason is that once the sun starts to go down, so does the temperature. Lastly, we don't want to travel in darkness to avoid accidents and injuries. I have brought one big tent that we will all fit into. This is a good way to conserve and share body heat. I will see you all at dawn. Get plenty of sleep tonight."
