It was an extremely ordinary night at Peach's castle. Toad couldn't help but find it boring. He approached Peach before going to bed.
"Princess, today was boring," Toad stated, glancing up at the blonde.
"Thank you for your feedback, Toad," Peach smiled. "I will make sure that tomorrow, you will not be bored."
"Yay! Thanks, Peach!" Toad grinned, misunderstanding Peach's response. "And goodnight!"
"Goodnight to you, too," Peach said as Toad scurried away. She giggled a bit, thinking about what would happen tomorrow.
*the following morning*
"Toad! Get up now!" another servant barked, waking up Toad. He groaned when he looked at the clock.
"It's 6 in the morning," Toad complained.
"The princess wants her breakfast," the other servant stated. His name was Sebastian.
"Aren't you in charge of that?" Toad questioned.
"Princess wants you in charge today," Sebastian replied.
"I wonder why," Toad murmured as he exited the room.
"I'm so glad that I get to rest the whole day," Sebastian grinned to himself.
Half an hour later, Toad finally served Peach her breakfast.
"Thanks, Toad," Peach said. "Can you wash the dishes when I'm finished eating?"
"Isn't that Claire's job?" Toad asked, talking about another servant.
"Not today," Peach answered. "So, you will wash the dishes for all of the snacks and meals today."
"Yes, Your Highness," Toad replied, not wanting to object.
*an hour and a half later*
"I'm done, Princess," Toad stated. "I'm gonna take a nap now."
"No, Toad," Peach shook her head. "You're not done with your duties yet."
"What? Aren't I?" Toad tilted his head in confusion.
"Scrub the floors now," Peach commanded.
"But, that's Jerry's job," Toad protested.
"He's on his day-off today, so you're his replacement," Peach replied.
"What about everyone else? Why do I have to do everything?" Toad questioned.
"Toad, all of the other servants are on their day-off as well," Peach said nonchalantly.
"Why not me?" Toad frowned.
"Because you said you were bored yesterday, so I decided to prevent you from saying that today as well," Peach began walking out of the room. "Now, get to work!"
"I didn't want THIS to be my boredom buster. I wanted a day-off!" Toad began bawling on the marble floor.
"You'll have to clean up your tears, you know," Peach called over her shoulder.
Princess Peach Toadstool is very, very cruel, Toad thought miserably.
Toad had only just finished cleaning the floors when Peach handed him a piece of paper.
"You must do everything on this list in order," Peach stated.
Toad reluctantly nodded and began to read the paper as Peach left the room.
1. Laundry
2. Clean the bathrooms
3. Prepare lunch
4. Wash the dishes
5. Clean the karts in the garage
6. Clean the swimming pool
7. Feed the chain chomps in the garden
8. Prepare a bubble bath for me
"Nooooo," Toad groaned, not used to doing any of the things on the list. Nonetheless, he decided to get started.
*eight hours later*
"Princess," Toad said. "Your bubble bath is ready. Now, I have done everything on the list."
"Good," Peach replied. "Now, go to the garage again. Sebastian will tell you something."
"Okay," Toad responded before running to the garage. Predictably, Sebastian was waiting for him there.
"Hi, Toad," Sebastian handed Toad several big bags of Coins. "The princess wants you to bring these bags to the orphanage."
Toad fainted due to exhaustion.
Poor Toad! Especially since he STILL isn't getting paid. But I hope you liked this chapter! Fyi this takes place the day after when the chapter before this took place. That's why it was an "extremely ordinary" night at the beginning of this chapter. Btw Toad having to bring bags on Coins to an orphanage is a reference to an episode of The Adventures Of Super Mario Bros. 3. Anyways pls add, comment, vote, etc. Thanks!
