28. Post-Halloween Candy

Birdo was at Toadette's house on the afternoon after Halloween.

"I still can't get over how awesome the Halloween party was!" Birdo giggled, lying on the couch and staring up at the ceiling.

"Yeah," Toadette agreed. "King Boo sure knows how to host parties, especially Halloween ones."

"So, what will we do today?" Birdo asked.

"Are you seriously asking me this?" Toadette rolled her eyes.

"Umm," Birdo said.

"We're gonna eat the candy I won last night of course!" Toadette exclaimed.

*flashback*

"The votes for 'Cutest Costume' are in!" King Boo shouted, getting everyone's attention. "My fellow minions have counted them all and the winner is... Toadette!"

The mushroom girl skipped to the stage in her cupcake costume.

"Yay!" she said happily.

"Your prize is this bucket of candy!" King Boo stated, gesturing to a nearby bucket that was practically overflowing with all sorts of candy.

"Oh my stars!" Toadette gasped. "That's bigger than ME!"

"Yes it is and because of that, I will teleport it to your home," King Boo replied. The candy bucket soon vanished.

"Thank you!" Toadette beamed and exited the stage.

*flashback over*

"But..." Birdo frowned. "I'm gonna get FAT! I'm so not eating all the candy!"

"You don't have to eat EVERYTHING," Toadette said. "And besides, who cares about getting fat? It's the day after Halloween, you're supposed to eat candy!" Toadette then patted her somewhat-round stomach proudly.

"You can eat candy, but I'm going to do something else," Birdo stood up. She was about to leave the room when Toadette grabbed her arm.

"NO! You will eat candy with me!" Toadette yelled.

"Let me do what I want!" Birdo yelled back. 

"NEVER!" Toadette screamed.

"Why n-" Birdo was about to say, but was cut off when Toadette shoved a watermelon-flavored Jolly Rancher into her mouth.

"Well?" Toadette questioned.

"That was so good!!!" Birdo exclaimed. "Give me more!"

"Okay then, Toadette smiled, satisfied that Birdo was going to eat more candy. "You deserve it anyway, since your Wiggler costume last night was really cool."

"Thanks," Birdo said as she searched for more Jolly Ranchers in the candy bucket. "Oh wow, there's a lot of these in here! Can I keep all of them?"

"Hmm," Toadette thought about the question for a moment. "Why don't we divide them between ourselves? I also like Jolly Ranchers, you know."

"Okay," Birdo nodded. "Well, do you have any other recommendations for moi?"

Toadette looked through the candy bucket and tossed out a Snickers bar, a small box of strawberry and grape Nerds, a bag of Haribo gummy bears, a bag of peanut M&Ms, and a bag of Trolli sour gummy worms.

"There you go," Toadette stated. "Try all of these and tell me which ones you like."

Birdo tasted all of the food Toadette gave her.

"I like them all," Birdo said.

"So, do you STILL want to do something else?" Toadette asked.

"Nope," Birdo answered. "Let's eat all of the candy!"

The two girls began eating so much candy that they pretty much forgot about anything else.

*two hours later*

"The bucket is empty!" Toadette exclaimed, her mouth full.

"I'm exhausted," Birdo put a hand on her stomach. "I'll go to your room and take a nap, okay?"

"You can," Toadette responded. Birdo headed upstairs, almost tripping in the process.

Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.

"Who is it?" Toadette murmured to herself as she opened the front door. "Oh, hi Yoshi."

"Hi, Dettie!" Yoshi grinned.

"What are you doing here?" Toadette questioned.

"You said we could eat your candy together today, remember?" Yoshi replied.

Toadette looked down at the ground guiltily.

"Umm... Well, you see..." she said slowly.

Who got candy this Halloween? ... Not me! So what do I do? I write about candy! This is the third-last chapter of this book. Btw you see that vid I put in the multimedia? WATCH IT. Anyways please add, comment, vote, etc. Thanks!
