i ignore all the whispers of the parents as they come to pick up their kids, i may not be near them but i can still hear them. i sit alone on a swing looking like i'm waiting but i'm not i know i'm not wanted. every time someone adopts me they bring me back the next day, the longest someone had me for was a week but they died due to a brake in gone wrong, i only survived because i hid in an air vent.

something rubes on my leg and i don't even look down i know its the cat that's been following me the past few days. i bend at the waist and pick it up placing it on my lap and stay sitting their on the swing.

"hey sweety, are you still waiting for your parents?" i look up at the teacher.

i stand with the cat in my arms. "no, i'm not." i turn towards the forest and my wings start to its inside my sweater wanting to be let out to feel the breeze on their fur as i push myself farther and farther, but i cant. if i do than the teacher could report me to the cops and the cops could bring in the hunters, i don't want that.

i settle for going into the forest, the one place where im not judged, ridiculed, or hated. the one place i can be myself. i see something move from the corner of my eye and my head whips to follow it.

a moth completely black and beautiful, but when in the sun i can make out some blue and green in the wings as well like spilled oil

a moth completely black and beautiful, but when in the sun i can make out some blue and green in the wings as well like spilled oil. i cant help it as the cat side of me takes over and starts to chase the moth my wings itching with in the confines of my sweater wanting to take me higher and higher till the oxygen thins and i can plummet back to earth only to open  my wings seconds before i face plant the earth.

i rip off my sweater but don't take off, i don't need to fly to feel the wind on my face, i just need to run really really fast. i leave my sweater where i dropd it and run, loving the feeling of the wind snatching at my hair and remaining clothes. i let a joyes laugh escape my mouth letting the wind snatch it away.

the fun doesn't last long it never does. i'm tackled mid jump, i give a shout as i crash to the ground with someone on top of me trying to get a hold of both my wrists to pin them above my head.

the cat in me starts to freak as i start to struggle and my claws come out, my pupils going into slits, i scratch the guys face and scramble into a tree. i crouch their and his my ears flattening when i see two boys join the first.
