howdy! welcome to this book if you're new, and welcome back if you're returning.
i started this story in 2019 and finished it over quarantine in may, 2020. i couldn't be prouder of myself for actually finishing a story, even if it isn't one of my original wips, but it's time for editing! this story is messy and the plotline is supbar. so, now that it's well over a year later, i'm rewriting it!
i've come to the realization that i don't mind having cliches in my stories as long as i own up to it - they're cliche because they're loved tropes, so you can't blame me for loving them lol. i'm just trying to make sure it's less bumpy.
as a mental health advocate, i'd like to make it clear that i'm writing about a panic disorder. i'm not throwing it on katie as a plot device, i'm putting it there to normalize it. her mental illness (or lack thereof) shouldn't be a character point, but just a normal part of her.
i know i haven't really touched my tratie writing in a while, but i started this account because i was depressed and needed a coping mechanism. turns out, writing fluffy stories about my old comfort ship is just what the doctor ordered, and i was able to dig out of my hole. now, i'm back because i need to cope with new issues and my therapist thought it was a great idea. so this is benefitting me just as much as it is y'all.
DISCLAIMER: a day may come when I don't write fanfiction, but this is not that day. all of the characters and world-building belongs to uncle rick except for a couple of ocs. i'm just making tratie a thing because i'm salty they're not canon.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: anxiety and panic disorders, mention of a past toxic relationship, family issues
i hope you love this as much as you liked the one shot that started this, and thanks so much for reading (or rereading!), voting, and commenting.
this is the new and (hopefully) improved version of fake - enjoy!
love y'all, and stay real.

Fanfictionhe hated her, she hated him. so why'd he kiss her? alternative summary: a really cliche trope that's super overused but it's tratie so who cares?
