Chapter 6: What Happened To Us?

Before We Begin:
I know there's been a lot of time skips lately. Like BIG time skips. These chapters right now are just to get you up to speed with the actual story so this story's just beginning. I was just trying to give you a general idea to of how their friendship was developing with a few stories. Enjoy!

*December 2017*

(James' POV)

Jaiden, Adam, Tim, and I were meeting up for a little video collab for Christmas. This was gonna be the first time I was gonna see Jaiden for months. So many times things just didn't work out when we tried to make plans. We were either busy or had plans with other animators. It kind of hurt that Tim got Jaiden to come for a collab first try and that we've failed to meet up so many times. Not that I'm jealous about that or anything. We got there and we filmed and it was actually really fun. But obviously not any time just to talk to Jaiden. I'm glad I actually got to see her though.

Months pass by of silence between each other. Not even failed attempts to hang out. Just complete silence.

(James' POV)
Sigh. I don't even know anymore. What happened? Our friendship went so downhill. We haven't seen each other in months.

(Jaiden's POV)
I haven't seen James in so long. If we hung out would it even be the same anymore? I don't know.

(No one's POV)
They both were lost. It was gonna be 2018 soon. They didn't know what to do. Neither of them called each other. But they both realized something. They were going to probably run into each other at VidCon at some point.

*time skip to VidCon 2018*

: ladies and gentlemen, we are in the the present! After all that back story, we're finally back to present day! Okay back to the story.

So now that you know about how we got here, let's get back to present day.

(Copy and paste lol. I hate this chapter because it was terrible but whatever gotta stick with the story.

After walking around VidCon for a little bit in the creator hall, James made eye contact with Jaiden. They ran up to each other and gave each other the biggest hug.

Jaiden: Fancy seeing you here!
James: I know! I haven't seen you in forever.
Jaiden: Sigh. Yeah, I know.
(Insert generic Apple text tone here)
James: Oh sorry, Jaiden. I have to head to a fan meet-up with Rush, Adam, and some of the other animators.
Jaiden: Aww dang okay.
James: You should come. The fans would probably be heartbroken without you.
Jaiden: Actually I just remembered that I have plans with Tim, Illy, and Chris (Illy's boyfriend).
James: Aw okay. It won't be the same though.
Jaiden: Yeah sure. I've gotta go but we've gotta hang out sometime. Bye James!
James: Bye!

(James' POV)
Yikes that was the worst conversation I've ever had with Jaiden. Not seeing her for so long may be driving us apart. You know what? I'm done with this. I'm done thinking about this. This is just another useless thing for me to think about.

(Jaiden's POV)
Wow that conversation was terrible. Why can't we talk like we used to? Sigh. I can't keep my mind on this.

It was Adam's birthday today and James was going to that with a lot of the other animators. But James didn't even know if Jaiden was going. He didn't want to ask her because then he'd start thinking about her. So he just went on with his night.

(James' POV)
I couldn't take it anymore. I was texting Jaiden to see if she wanted to meet up for dinner. Even if she was busy I had to at least try.

James: Hey! Any chance you'd be available for dinner tonight?

Jaiden: Hey James! Sure! What time and where we going?

James: At 8:30 and at this new mexican restaurant. I'll send you the address.

Jaiden: Is it okay if Tim, Illy, and Jordan?

James: Oh uh yeah of course.

Jaiden: Are you sure?

James: Yeah it's fine! Don't worry about it.

Jaiden: Okay.

James: Alright.

They all soon arrived. James got there first.

(James' POV)
I admit I was a little annoyed when Jaiden asked to bring Tim, Illy, and Jordan. It's not that I don't like them. Well most of them. It's just that I saw this dinner as an opportunity to catch up. And I just felt like they were kind of intervening. The dinner was okay though. I didn't even get to talk to Jaiden that much. Okay maybe it wasn't okay. Whatever. The dinner was over. Jaiden and the rest of them invited me to get ice cream but I told them I wasn't feeling well. So I took an Uber back to my hotel. I got escorted up to my hotel by security. I opened my door and flopped on my bed. I didn't know how we went from such great friends to barely hanging out. And even when we do it's just not the same. Just face it. Jaiden has new better friends. She doesn't consider you a best friend. Sigh. Do I.....?
Do I have feelings for her. I'd always loved her as a friend and had seen the ship comments. But I'd never really thought about her that way. Have I had a crush on her this entire time? My eyes were starting to close. I turned off the light

Hey people! I know it's been a while. So where have I been? Sorry but I've just been flat out exhausted the past few days
Don't worry. I'm gonna get back to regular schedule and I hope this won't happen again. I know this is a short filler chapter but to make up for it, I'm gonna be posting back to back chapters. Don't worry because I planned this chapter out beforehand so I'm not just winging it. Anyways this book has just been exploding lately so I'm gonna have to at least try to make this book decent.
