"Jade?" The man with whom she had slept with three months ago asked and she could feel her eyes widening as she recognized him.

The one and only Alejandro Martinez was sitting at the other end of the meeting room table, looking as handsome as ever.

He was still as sexy as she remembered him to be. His jet black hair was gelled back, giving him the 'formal-businessman-look'. His forest green eyes were wide opened, staring at her. Jade looked at his straight nose, his pink lips and at his chiseled jaw which was covered with some stubble, and she suddenly remembered how it had felt like when he had kissed her that night. How his stubble had tickled her skin, giving her a feeling of undeniable pleasure. She let her eyes trail down his body and she could see how his sculptured muscles were practically ripping apart the thick fabric of his black two piece suit. She absentmindedly licked her lips. For a second, she felt the urge to pounce on the guy like a wild and untamed cheetah and just ravish him. But fortunately, it was only for a second.

Jade quickly regained her composure and mentally scolded herself for her inappropriate thoughts.

This was only a onetime thing, Jade. Control yourself. She told herself.

Ignoring Alejandro and deciding to act like she did not know him, she made her way across the room and greeted Bill,

"Good afternoon Bill. How are you?"

"Good, good my dear Jade. And you?"Bill Williams asked while sipping his glass of Bourbon.

"I'm great, thank you very much."Jade smiled and Bill nodded before informing,

"This is my son and legal heir, Alejandro Martinez. He is here today so that you two can get to know each other as you will be working together in a near future."

"Good afternoon Sir, I am Jade Harper, your father's business partner." She greeted Alejandro while glancing at him and holding her hand out.

"Good afternoon Miss Harper, I am glad to meet you." He took her hand in his, surprising her before bringing it to his lips and kissing it, like he had done when they had first met three months ago.

"The pleasure is all mine, Sir" Jade said, somehow breathlessly. Snapping out of her daze, she cleared her throat before taking her hand out of Alejandro's big ones and turning to Bill and asking, perplexed,

"You're retiring?" She had created this company with Bill and they had worked side by side since then. She was not ready to work with somebody else. And definitely not with Alejandro.

"Alas, I'm afraid yes, Jade." Bill answered, sadly, "I am not getting any younger and I will soon be of no use. Alejandro here knows all of the business and I am ready to pass the strings to him. Well, that is if you agree with it."

"Sure, anything for you Bill and I am sure that Alejandro and I will be able to work together in great harmony."

Truth be told, Jade knew that she was going to regret every word she just said. After all, how would they be able to get some work done when they had shared a very steamy night together? It would be too awkward for her liking. Mixing personal life and professional life was not good and Jade knew that the outcome of this experience would be bad, extremely bad.

Feeling a bit nervous at the thought of seeing Alejandro every day, Jade hummed and hesitated before asking,

"When will you be retiring?"

Bill tilted his head in thought before replying,

"In about a week or two." Jade started coughing after hearing the answer. He was retiring so soon?

"Jade, are you okay?" Bill asked while gently tapping her back, "Do you want some water or perhaps, a glass of whiskey?"

Feeling like she needed to digest this news, Jade said,

"Whiskey will be fine." Bill smiled before quickly moving towards the small table in a small corner of the room and pouring some Bourbon in a glass. He held out the glass and Jade smoothly drowned it in one go before sitting down.

"So when do I start?" Alejandro asked after a few minutes of silence and Jade suddenly remembered that he was still in the room.

Bill put his glasses on before instructing,

"Just give me the contracts and you can start after we sign them."Alejandro put his black briefcase on the table and quickly retrieved the papers, placing each example in front of the three of them.

Oh no! Jade thought, this shit is for real.

And, it was, indeed, real, for that matter.
