**The next day at school.

Jung Mi got to school early again. As she sat down, she saw Jungkook enter the classroom.

Jung Mi: Oh. Annyeo. (Hi)
(She said smiling as she waved at Jungkook.)

Jungkook waved back as he walked towards his desk.

Teacher: Class, we have a new transfer student from Daegu.

A girl with a slim figure walked into the classroom. All the girls and boys were drooling at her beauty.

"Hello everyone, my name is Bae Joo-Hyun, but you guys can call me Irene."

Both Taehyung and Jungkook automatically sat up and looked at her.

Jung Mi thought she was too pretty to be real.

Irene saw Taehyung and Jungkook, she gave them a quick smile as she walked to her seat.

After class.

Irene sat alone at her desk, since she was new and didn't have any friends yet. She could hear boys and girls around her whispering. Then all of a sudden, a boy walked up towards her.

"Excuse me."

Irene looked up with a smile.

"My name is Kang Joon. I think you're really pretty. Can you give me your number?"

Then Taehyung walked towards them.

Taehyung: Why would you want her number?

"Why? It's none of your business."

Taehyung: Get lost.

"Who are you to tell me what to do. She isn't your girlfriend is she? Right?" He said with a smirk as he grabbed Irene's wrist.

Taehyung grabbed his arm and made him let go.

Taehyung: Get lost while I'm still being nice.
(He said annoyed.)

"You can't tell me what to do." He said grabbing Irene's hand again.

Taehyung had had enough and threw a punch at him, which sent him laying on the floor in pain.

"Yah!!" He said angry as he got up and about to throw a punch at Taehyung's face. But Taehyung dodged it and kicked him. Which made him kneel, in pain.

Taehyung: I already told you to get lost.

The guy quickly left the classroom. Then Taehyung turned to Irene.

Taehyung: Are you okay?
(He asked.)

Irene nodded.

Irene: Yeah, thank you.

Jung Mi, Sohye, and Jungkook sat together as they all saw all of this happen. Sohye was so jealous of Irene.

Jung Mi: Why did he do that? What's wrong with him?

Sohye: She's so lucky, whoever she is.
(She said looking at Taehyung with hearts in her eyes.)

Jungkook: You guys don't know her?

Both Jung Mi and Sohye turned to face Jungkook.

Jung Mi: Who is she?
(She asked curious.)

Jungkook: She's Taehyung's childhood friend. We all hung out when we were younger.

Sohye: They're not dating are they?
(She asked quite afraid.)

Jungkook: Anniyo. We're just all good friends.

Sohye sighed with relief.

Jung Mi: Then why is he so protective?

Jungkook: Maybe that's how they grew up.

***Flashback to Taehyung and Irene's childhood***

"Fattie, Fattie, fattie"

All the others kids said as they pointed fingers at her at a playground.

Irene cried as she stood there.

Irene: I'm not fat.

Then Taehyung walked towards her and held her hand, as he wiped away her tears with another.

Taehyung: Don't cry. You're not fat, you're pretty. Don't listen to what they say.
(He said as he put his two fingers at the ends of her mouth and raised it up to a smile.)
Smile, you'll look prettier.
(He said smiling himself.)

Then Irene smiled, as they held hands and walked to the playground to play.

***End of flashback.

Which is probably why Taehyung is now always so protective around her. Since he knows what she's been through.

In the cafeteria.

Jung Mi, Sohye, and Jungkook were sitting together at lunch, as Irene and Taehyung came to sit with them. The three of them looked up at Taehyung and Irene with confused faces.

But Taehyung and Irene sat down anyways.

None of them said a word, and the atmosphere got awkward. Taehyung looked up at all of them, and they were all looking at Irene.

Taehyung cleared his throat.

Taehyung: This is Irene. My childhood friend.

Sohye and Jung Mi both quickly bowed at her as she did the same back.

Sohye: I'm Sohye. Song Sohye. Nice to meet you.
(She said smiling.)

Irene smiled back.

Jung Mi: I'm Jung Mi.

Irene: It's nice to meet you all, I hope we all get along well.
