....Where am I?

Well let's take a guess:

1. It smells like cow crap.

2. It's moist and hard to breath in.

3. It's really dark but there's a bit of light here and there.

Now... where am I? Okay I guess I doesn't really help, where's Kai and Ash? I looked around only to find myself in a prison, oh great. There were lit torches hanging from the crooked rocky walls about every twenty cells, and one was beside mine. The fire illuminated my bright orange hair. I sat back against the freezing rusty bars and closed my eyes. So this was the under life Ash was talking about. I stunk.

So we meet again, child.

I flashed my eyes wide open, who's there? I got up on my knees searching like a hunter, wait, I am a hunter. I sniffed the damp air, nothing.

It seems as if you need help getting out of the cage.

"Who are you, and where are you?" I tried not to sound so crazy. I gasped, a gold figure came from behind me. A deer with four antlers greeted me. Its body toward over me and its legs were fine and lean. I moved it's slender neck back and tilted its head to look into my gleaming eyes.

I expect that you don't know me but for me to you, yes.

I held my ground even though my legs were trembling. I waited for it to speak again.

I am neither friend or foe, this challenger you may know, Kai. You must help her with her journey and you must understand that. So here I shall help you out, child. Touch one antler.

It leaned in my reach. Gold antlers, did it want me to take it? Gold, money, I'd be rich. Stubbornly, I reached to grasp the horn, in an instant I went flying to the ground. OUCH. When I sat up I looked back at the ground, it was cracked rubble now. Scratching my butt didn't help either. True, the deer certainly didn't like me, but what did it had to do with Kai? The deer's expression changed furiously.

Child, certainly you do not wish for Kai's future at the moment. I bid you a farewell.

Before it could trot away, I went to grab its antler again. This isn't gold, this is a trap, a trap that Kai must never fall in to. What ever bond they had, I could tell it wasn't a good one. With my eyes clasped together I froze, my hand numb. I was grabbing it, with barely any strength left. It just looked back at me with no surprise.

Ah, now you realise. As promised, I'll grant you your wish.

I fell to the ground with no energy left. It trotted into the shadows of the cell. Now it was only me that was here. Crap, my hand is burning now. I struggled over to the freezing prison bars and leaned my hand against it to cool it down.

SSSSSSH...   I sat there gaping. The bars- melted.

* Kai *

I hazily gleamed out my chamber window with Grey on my lap, constantly petting him slowly. His red eyes glimmered in the sparkling yellow mist outside my window. Or was that even mist... It was pretty boring here, and quiet. Maybe I should go walk for a bit. As I stood up Grey leaped out of my lap and shook his fur from head to tail. The chamber doors creaked open ever so softly. I checked for any guards, one was snoring sound asleep beside me. I froze trying not to wake him but Grey just pranced out like it was nothing, so I followed him and down the hallway.
