"Chloe & Maddie!" She says. We turn to each other. Chloe smiles. "Your duet is called black swan. Chloe your are the dark & evil one. Maddie you will be the good one in this piece." She speaks.

"And final pose!" Abby shouts. "Good thank you girls." We all scatter out the door to the dancers den. What a long day. I feel someone tap me. I turn around. Kendall. "You sucked today." She says smiling. I just look at her. I want to say something but i can't. Kendall was right. Her punch would, and did,shut me up. "What? Not gonna say anything?" She says smirking. "That's what I thought." She says and walks away. I gather my stuff and put it into my dance bag, before I leave someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn around to see Chloe. "Hey Maddie!" She smiles from ear to ear. "Um, hi." I say. "Do you wanna come to my house? We can practice our duet and hangout and stuff." She says. I hesitate wether or not I should go. "Well...I uh.." "Come on, Please!" Chloe begs. "Fine... Let me just ask my mom." I say. "Ok!" Chloe says and walks over to Nia. I walk out into the lobby to find my mom on her phone. "Can I go to Chloe's.." I mumble. There's a long pause. "Sure" my mom says not really caring. I turn and go back to the den. Chloe's talking to Nia and Mackenzie. Before I can walk over to Chloe Kendall stops me. "Where do you think you're going?" She says. "Um...to...to.. Chloe's?" I say stuttering. "Cute, you think you have a chance at being her friend? Just you wait sweetie." She says and walks away. I walk quickly over to Chloe, Mackenzie & Nia. Nia looks at me strangely. I don't know why until I remember the incident at the lake. I just kinda slightly smile at her. "I uh can come." I say to Chloe. "Great! Come with me!" She says. I grab my dance bag and walk to the door. I turn and look at Mackenzie. She smiles and waves. I smile back. "Cmon Maddie!" Chloe shouts and grabs my wrist. We leave and get into the car. "Hey Maddie! Did you girls enjoy dance today?" She asks. "Yes!" Chloe says happily. "Um. Ya." I say quietly.

We pull up to a newer house slightly bigger than mine. We climb out of the car and go to the door. Chloe opens it and I follow inside. The house was beautifully decorated. "Wow." I say. "You like it?" Chloe's asks giggling and joking. "Um yeah." I say rubbing my arm slightly embarrassed. "Cmon with me." She says. We go up the curved staircase and not too far down the hall to Chloe's room. Her walls are painted a bright purple. Above her single bed are photos of her friends in a collage. "So um Chloe, what do you think of the girls?" I ask not really sure what to say. "Oh! They're nice!" She says. She sits on her bed and goes on here phone. "Do you have Instagram?" She asks without looking up. "Oh, um , yea." I say. "What is it?" She asks"M..madd.dd...isonziegler1313." I say stuttering. "So maddisonziegler1313?" She asks. "Uh uh yes." I say. I don't know what's wrong with me. It feels like there's a hole in my gut and my head is pounding. Chloe looks up. "Are you ok? You're stuttering a lot. You don't look so well either." She says. "Um um..yea I'm fine.. I think." I say. "Maddie we may have only known each other for a few hours but either your lying or your sick." She says glaring at me. I look at her. I get really nervous and can't speak. "So you are lying!" She says. I look down. "Maddie. What's wrong? I'm not mad." She says and stands up. "Nothing.." I say. "Maddie please, you can trust me I promise." She says. I look up at her. "I..um.. I don't want to say." "Why not?" She says. "Be..because... I will get hurt." I say and look down. "Get hurt? What do you mean?" She asks. "I just...I don't want to talk about it right now.." I say. "Ok...but will you tell me soon?" She asks. "I don't know.... Maybe?" I say. "Why can't you tell me anyways?" She asks. Tears stream down my face. "I don't have a normal life! People rarely talk to me! My parents have ignored me for years! Nobody cares and I get bullied!" I say and cry. I slide down to the floor. "So now you know my story!" I say upsettingly. "Maddie...I'm..I'm so sorry." She says. "I don't know what to say.' She says sympathetically. "Doesn't matter anyways... I'm used to it." I put my head in my knees. "Maddie..." "What." I say. "Who do you get bullied by." She asks. Tears start to form again. I look up at her. "If I tell you how can I know you won't tell other people or say something to the bully." I ask. "You can trust me I won't tell." She says. I can tell she really means it. "I...I...get bullied...by um..um Paige!" I yell. And cover my mouth. I thought I could trust her. Something was telling me I couldn't.. And now I lied. "Paige! But she seems so sweet." She says surprised. "Um yea...I know." I say. " I'm really sorry." She says again coming up to me on the floor. "Yeah.." I mumble. I lied to Chloe. What happens if she finds out I lied! She'll probably hate me. If she does find out...Kendall was right, I don't have a chance at being her friend.
