POV Scott
I left Avi and Kevin so I could have some time by myself to think about how I was going to apologize. Quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised if Mitch didn't ever want to talk to me again. And to be honest, I don't blame him. It was past 3 o'clock and I just realized I hadn't even eaten lunch yet. I walked over to a nearby Qdoba to do my thinking there. I sat at table by myself just picking at my nachos despite how hungry I was. How could I even eat at a time like this?
Just when I was finally about to put something my mouth, I felt a tapping on my shoulder. I rolled my eyes. It was probably another fan.
"Guess who's in the city!" It was a familiar voice.
I shot my head around saw my wonderful boyfriend Alex Kirk standing by me. I quickly got up and wrapped my arms around his waist. "Uh, not you! I joked. He chuckled lightly and pecked me on the lips. "What are you even doing here?"
He smiled shyly and looked down at his shoes which I thought was so adorable. "I just wanted to see my favorite baritone!" I blushed fiercely. "... and I need to visit an old friend for a little bit." He murmured. "I haven't told you this already?"
I looked at him with a raised brow. "Who?" I asked curiously.
He shrugged. "Oh, it's just someone from high school... I really didn't tell you this?" I shook my head.
It did seem kinda suspicious but I just let it go; it didn't seem that important.
I latched onto his hand and smiled coyly at him. "Now that you're here, how about we spend some time together?"
He brought my hand to his mouth and kissed it. "Can't actually. I've got a tight schedule today... I'm good tomorrow though."
I frowned. "Not sure I'll be able to make time. I've got a sound check and a performance."
He scowled. "Bummer... Well, I was about to leave anyway. See ya 'round, babe!" He said as he began walking towards the exit.
Well now I was definitely confused. Alex came all the way out here to see me and now he's not even gonna spend more than two minutes talking to me? He seemed so strange too. Has he always been like this? I didn't know even anymore.
Then I remembered my predicament. Would telling Alex about the kiss be right? I mean I guess he does deserve to know but I don't know. I would hate for him to not trust me anymore and I also don't want him to hate Mitch.
I sighed as I remembered the reason why I came here in the first place. I took a nacho, dipped it in cheese and threw it in my mouth.
POV Mitch
Kirstie and I laughed obnoxiously loud as we walked through the mall together. All she told me was a stupid joke and for some reason I was dying, which of course made her laughing. I tried taking a few sips of my soda in between giggles. Now she was laughing just as hard. We stopped walking and saw down at the fountain. We calmed down only a little bit.
"Oh my gosh, it so adorable the way your dimples show up whenever you laugh!" She laughed, making me blush.
"Stop it!" I said, still giggling. She leaned her head on my shoulder. After a few seconds we both finally calmed down, panting to catch our breath. I took another sip of my drink. It felt so good to laugh like this after the kind of day I had.
"Oh! Let's go in that store!" Kirstie exclaimed. She pointed an extremely bright store with neon colors. It almost hurt my eyes to look directly at it. Before I could even answer, I was dragged into the store. As soon as we entered, Kirstie immediately began looking at all the cute shirts on display.
I went over to the guy section to find something that I might like. I looked at jeans, jackets, and some T-shirts but nothing seemed to jump out at me even though they were colored brightly.
I kept searching until my eyes fell on something I really loved. It was a black and floral round neck knitted sweater. It was just in my size too! I thought needed some shoes to go with it so I found a pair of black fold-over combat boots with sort of an Aztec, tribal pattern on the inside. After trying the boots on I found a few other items and then found Kirstie waiting in line. I quickly joined her.
"Find anything you like?" I asked her.
She showed me all the clothes she had in her hands. "And you?"
I giggled and showed her mine. "I feel like I'm going to be so obsessed with these boots! My weekly obsession for Superfruit!" I joked.
After buying our items, we went back to the same fountain to sit down and chat.
"So how are you feeling now?" she asked.
"A lot better now after spending time with my sister," I said with a smile.
Kirstie grinned, showing me her teeth. "That's really good to hear." She paused a for a second. "Are you gonna talk to Scott?"
I thought about it and shrugged. I actually didn't feel anything. Sort of like what I always wanted. It actually kind of scared me how I was so unafraid. "If he doesn't talk to me then I'll talk to him; I'm not even worried."
"Wow, when did you get so tough?" I flexed my arm to show off my nonexistent muscles. "You know, I thought you and Scott would cute together."
"Oh, you did?" I blushed slightly.
"Yeah, probably anybody who knows the two of you would agree!"
We continued talking about nothing in general. For instance, we talked about how much she missed Jeremy and how much I missed Wyatt. There are two types of people in this world. Then these two teenage girls walked up to us with huge smiles, showing off their braces. "Oh my gosh, it's those guys from Penta... Pita... Petra... That cover band!" One girl exclaimed.
"I totally knew Mitch and Kristy were dating!" The other one said.
Kirstie and I both looked at each other confusedly at first but then broke out laughing. Then we both stood up and picked up our shopping bags. "Sorry girls, maybe some other time." I said as we began walking.
"I think that's enough shopping for one day." Kirstie added.
From behind me I heard one of the girls scoff. "Hmmph! I was only gonna ask to be their sixth member!"
"Wanna go find the others now?" I said to Kirstie. She nodded. We were both kind of tired from all the walking we did and took a taxi back to the hotel to put our new stuff away. After that, Kirstie phoned the rest of the gang to start heading to the Statue of Liberty. I guess Scott and I won't be able to avoid each other for long.
