So I decided to do an early update because of the comments a reader gave me.
@Stormlightning1 Thank you for reading my story and for commenting! It gives me a boost or motivation when people vote, comment, or even just read my stories and enjoy it! It makes it all worth it to me so really, thank you!
Keith: "Hey Keith; how are you feeling?" I look up and see Lance, hovering over me as I sit on the couch in the lounge. I shrug. "OK, I guess. Why?" He looks away like he is embarrassed. "Well it's just.... being Galra must've been a shock. I mean for me stuff like that and hoping to be accepted is hard for me." I tilt my head. "You've been in a similar situation. One where you also hoped that people would accept you for who you are?" He jolts. "Um uh yeah I uh guess I have." I signal for him to go on and tell me more, but he shakes his head. "I-I am not telling you a time where I was weak! You are my rival!" I sigh. That again. I look away as I grab my dagger. He peaks at it. "Soooo, what is that exactly." I show it to him. "This? It's one of the Blades of Mamora's. It stays as a dagger, but if I will it to it transforms into a sword." He sits down next to me. "Can I see it?" I nod. "Sure." It's not like he's good with a sword, but he might try waving it around like a stick now that I think about it. It's too late now though, I already handed it to him. He checks the marking in awe. "Why does it glow." Huh. "You know what, I don't even know why it glows. It might just glow to show the handler is Galra." Lance looks at me. "Then why does it still glow when I hold it?" I smirk. "Maybe you are also Galra?" His eyes widen. "No way! They are furry beasts I'm WAY too handsome for that!" My poker-face shows."So I'm just a furry beast as well?" He clenches up. "No! Well.... you're only half so no you aren't." He giggles. "Explains the mullet though." I frown as I mumble. "And here I thought you liked the mullet." "What'd you say?" I sigh. "Ohhh nothing." I slur it out for emphasis on the nothing; which frustrates him. "You said something you can't mumble it!" We hear footsteps and go silent. They knock on my door. "Keith, may I come in?" It's Coran!?
Lance hides in my closet as I open the door. Why Lance, why? "Coran?" He looks at me with a displeased expression. I invite him in and he sits in the chair. "I wanted to talk to you about Princess Allura. My eyes widen, and I sit in the other chair. "Is something wrong?" He nods. "I know this sounds unfair, but can you humor her for a little. Learning you are part Galra, didn't really please her." I scoff. "Yeah she didn't really hide it." He sighs. "Please, just play along and give her time to accept it. I mean our planet was destroyed by Galra which also angers me, but at the same time you were not a part of that. It's not your fault that you are part Galra, and she will have to live with knowing that. You guys are teammates, and you guys need to work together." I gently smile. "I understand. I will wait and hope that with time she will come to at least tolerate my presence." He shakes my hands. "Thank you Keith, I'm glad it was you since you are a lot more grounded." I nods as I show him out. I look at the closet. "You can come out of the closet now, Lance." He emerges, but he doesn't look happy. "Lance?" He says nothing as he walks over to me with an angered face. "Lance? Wh-" He pulls me into a hug as he squeezes me. "Why did you say that Keith!?" I jolt. "W-What do you mean?" He grabs my shoulder and pushes me back so he can see me. His face looks like he is about to cry. "You shouldn't have to be treated like that and then be asked to just endure it and give them time to tolerate you. Allura shouldn't despise you and honestly it's childish!" I sigh. "Yeah, you're right. However, life isn't fair like that. Sometimes you have to do the things you don't want to do." He hugs me again. "But you're an amazing person with so many attributes that should override that! You are quick, smart, cute, determined, and you're always looking at everything in the long run." Wait what was that in the middle? Did he just call me cute? He leaves before I can ask. "Bye Keith, and remember what I said!" The door closes, and I'm left in a disarray. "He just called me cute.... didn't he?" My face flushes as I fall to the floor. Is this.... love?
