The New Leader

Lance: Ever since Keith became leader, things have been tense. I know exactly why the Black Lion chose him, but right now his heart isn't in the right place. I sigh. "He still isn't over Shiro." My heart starts to feel as if it's being stabbed as those words, connected by negativity, fall from my mouth. After days of struggle we have all the paladins in check. Keith flies the Black Lion, I have Red, and Allura now flies Blue. I miss Blue; she was so simple. Red is all about instincts, and I'm not really good in that area. Keith was meant for Red, but now he is learning how to connect with the Black Lion. Speak of the devil. Keith comes on our intercoms. "All right team, the people of Puiga are sa-" We are then attacked. Allura comes on. "It's Lotor!" Oh no. Another fight? We chase Lotor and try to land attacks, but he's fast. Pidge starts yelling. "This guy is toying with us!" "I know, but he have to try to take him down even if he is." Keith demands. We keep the battle going. We try to make coordinated attacks, but he seems to already know what we are doing. Hunk starts getting nervous. "Guys... we should regroup." "No! He's in our sights, look; he's retreating!" We see him trying to get away. Keith follows. I then go on the intercom, but am interrupted by Pidge. "Keith! That storm planet is too dangerous! We can't go in!" "He is right there! We can get him!" Keith yells, and we blindly follow. Keith... you're making a mistake. We are in the planet, and our sensors malfunction. We become lost. 

              After my search, I find the Black Lion. Time to make things right, and I can't go easy on him no matter how much I want to. I hear him sniffling. Don't cave, stay strong Lance. "Keith." I hear him notice my voice. "L-Lance. I'm so so sorry. I thought that getting Lotor would h-help. I messed up." "Yeah you did, but I'll help you fix it. WE'LL help you fix it; we are a team, and you are our leader. You can't be Shiro, but you can be Keith. The mullet that I lo- we love." I can feel our gazes on each other, and I see the Black Lion get up. "Thanks, Lance. You always know how to keep me in check." I blush. "W-Whatever; I just want to get out of this stupid planet. The humidity is not good for my hair." I hear him giggle, and I smile. "Lance, let's go save Voltron." We try to find a way out, side by side, feeling unstoppable. We eventually find Hunk and Pidge. At first they were angry and scared, but Keith did what he did best. He was our leader. We went around looking for Lotor or Allura. We eventually found Lotor first. We followed him around, but this time we were evenly matched. He wasn't flying circles around us, and I think that scared him. Keith scoffs. "We need to form Voltron." I go on the intercom, "But Allura isn't here." "Then we need to find her." Keith speaks, but someone else enters the conversation. "Guys! I'm alright, I'm just stuck." We all gasp. "Allura!" Hunk exclaims in relief. "I- I just... need... to get out of... I'm free!" We then quickly see her. That gives Keith the signal. "Paladins, Form Voltron!"

               We are in a similar situation. Will Keith continue to follow Lotor, or will we go home safe? He sighs. "Everyone,  fall back." "You sure?" Pidge questions; surprised by him making the most logical decision. "Yeah, we can get him whenever we want." We all feel relief as we fly back to the Castle of Lions; with Coran anxiously waiting for us. We land our lion. "Guys! You're back." He squeals with joy and hugs everyone. Keith leaves, but I'm not letting him sulk. "Oh Keeeeiiittthhh." I tap his shoulder and walk with him. "Where ya going, buddy?" "Training." He must be stressed. "I'll go too." He questioningly looks at me. "You? Training?" I scoff. "Totally! I train all the time." We go into the old room; where really... this wild ride began. We walk in, and I make sure no one saw us enter. I close the door, and I already see him setting up. Quick as ever. However, something is different. "No bayard?" He shakes his head. "Just doing motions today." I smirk. "You know, I danced during my time on Earth." He chuckles. "Oh, really?" I nod. "Of course." I get on the system. "Hmmmm, this one sound good." I feel the rhythm and I start to move with the beat. I keep it upbeat as I use my momentum to get off the ground. I can feel his eyes looking at my every move. I like it. It's ruined, however, by the song ending. He claps. "Not bad McClain, not bad." I bow. "Your feet were off though." I frown. "No they weren't! Th-That's just a couples' dance so there is usually another dancing with me." He smirks, and begins to walk over. Butterflies form in my stomach. "Whaaat are you doing?" "Well, you said there is usually another dancer, so, let's dance." I blush, and nervously we hold hands. The music starts over and we begin to dance. I can feel the lining of his lean body pressed against mine. As I twirl him I feel is fingers intertwine with mine. We start to quicken the pace with the music. Faster, faster,  faster. "Lance?" 

               My body's heat rises, as I look to see where I was. I saw my hands were still holding Keith's, but He was on the ground, and I was on top of him. I panic. "I am SO sorry." I jump off and move a couple of feet away. He gets up, and wipes off some sweat. Gulp. He smiles. "Well that was fun." My body shakes. Please stop talking like that. Happy thoughts. Just. Think. Happy thoughts. We walks over, and helps me up. "This is good teamwork exercises, don't you think." My quivering smile shows. "Y-Yeah." I feel a little happy see his smile; we here foot-steps. "So, you like someone Allura?" It's Pidge. "Shhh! Don't talk too loud." Pidge chuckles. We listen in. Pidge and Allura? Gossip? "It's someone in Voltron, am I right?" We hear Allura agree. Allura... likes one of us!? Keith scoffs, and I can feel his negativity. I look at him. "What's wrong Keith? Do you know who Allura likes?" "Wouldn't you like to know." His sarcasm surprises me, and also hurts me. "What does that mean? Is something wrong." He shakes his head, then smiles. "We'll try some more partner with the rest of the paladins tomorrow." I nod. "O-Okay?" What just happened? Did I do something wrong?

               So I did, yes, another quick update; however, this time I did it for two lovely readers who showed just how they feel about our couple. I even felt the need to rewrite just what their comments were lol. Here they are! (Love you guys by the way)

Also I have another Klance/Voltron AU called The Disastrous Life of Voltron. I think it's pretty great and the plot is something nice and fresh. Hope you guys read it and like it!
