It was the sobs of a young child that Madoka heard first. The sobs racked through the air, as Madoka stood there motionless. The sound of a child hiccuping and sobbing in sadness and despair left her standing in the fog, helpless. It filled her with despair at the grief, yet hope at the fact that she wasn't alone in sadness.
Homura, Oriko and Kirika all heard the sobs at the same time. Homura froze from where she had been walking off, and stared into the fog, the sound of sadness echoing through her head. A small part of her brain told her to move, to block out the sound, find Madoka and get out of here. She couldn't though, the sobs trapped her, weaving it's invisible web, catching her wherever she tried to move.
Kirika's eyes widened, as she felt the sound catching her, holding her still. She struggled to escape this invisible trap, but it held her tight. In panic, she writhed, and she managed to slash her claws at something. Flailing around still, her claws tore through the sound net, slowly releasing her, little by little. Finally, she had control over most of her body. Almost as though whoever was crying felt her escape, the sobs increased in volume and grief, turning into a scream and wail of pain and sadness.
Kirika fell to her knees, helpless, covering her ears in a futile attempt to block out the sound. The sobbing softened slightly, like a child calming down, but still upset, the hiccups and sniffs still coming.
Hearing the sound, Oriko immediately brought her hands up to her ears, shutting her eyes and trying to ignore the echoing waves of sadness coming into her head. The sobs kept coming though, trapping her in space, making her unable to move. Squinting, Oriko could see the outline of the door in the fog. If she could just get through, she could kill this witch and leave.
Gritting her teeth, she struggled to break free of the net the sobbing had woven around her. Every time she tried to take a step, the net tightened, dragging her back, rendering her unable to move. Finally, Oriko fell to the floor, the invisible net unable to hold her. It still clung to her, but crawling on her hands and knees, she managed to drag herself across to the door, the strands tugging and pulling her every time she moved.
The door was in front of her now, its plain, brown appearance gleaming dully. Reaching up, Oriko grabbed the door handle, twisting it, and falling into the door. As it opened, she fell to the ground, again, but she was no longer in the fog. She was at the centre of the labryinth.

Miku opened her eyes dazedly. The eruption had knocked her out briefly, but she was awake now. Her head hurt, and she could feel blood at the back of her skull. It felt as though someone had been trying to crack her skull open with a scythe. A scythe. Where was Yuuki?!
Sitting up abruptly, she scanned the area for the brown and red figure. She was too tired to summon her sword or something from her memory, but she still had to be on the lookout.
Yuuki was nowhere in sight. That didn't mean she wasn't hiding, waiting for a chance to ambush her.

Yuuki lay in the ground, on her side, her eyes staring, unseeing, at the pile of rubble in front of her, concealing her. She lay there for some time, before coming to her senses, and sat up, rubbing her head. The earthquake had knocked her over, twisting her injured ankle even more, making it so painful, even her magic couldn't numb it completely. She had been forced to crawl behind a pile of rubble to hide from Miku, while she waited for her magic to come into effect. There, she had lain on the ground, dozing. She didn't feel like she was in any danger, since she had seen Miku get knocked out. Miku wouldn't be attacking anyone soon.
Closing her eyes, Yuuki took a deep breath, and ignored the pain. Whether she had used magic or not, she didn't know. All of her body's feelings and senses disappeared, and very soon, all she could feel was her increasing ecstasy at her new form. She was invincible. She was unstoppable. Nothing. Nothing could hurt her. She will get out of this arena alive, and she will kill everyone.
Standing up, she marched off. She had the Hunger Games to win.
