"I hate you Tyler!" I yell in frustration as Tyler shoved his hands into his front pockets. "I should've known you would do this to me..."
"It's not what you think, Rusty, baby, come on."

It's been about three months since i came back to Texas and I haven been ignoring Tyler. If anyone asks about him...I ignore there question. Carli has been partying a lot and I've been stuck at home because I'm pregnant and can't drink.
I had gone to the gynecologist for a check up and she told me I was pregnant and I was in shock. My family knows including Carli's. I haven't mentioned it to anyone else and I want to keep it that way until I figure out what I'm going to do. I can abort it because it's too late but I can give them up for adoption or keep them. I'm having twins but I don't know the gender yet.
I pull my hair up into a messy bun and straighten my clothes out. My tight clothes are getting too tight and I haven't found the time to go buy new ones.
I leave my room and grab my phone and keys off the bar and leave the apartment. I go to the diner and clock in. The dinner rush had just finished and few people littered the diner. It's nice calm as the hum of the jukebox plays hits of the nineties.
The bell above the door chimes and feet shuffle in. "Welcome to Rusty's Rockabilly!"
I don't look up from the cake I'm placing in glass display tray. "I'll be with you guys in just a second."
I quickly finish up and put the cake out on the bar and grab my pad and pen. I look up and see Tyler's grandparents and his younger brother.
I smile and ignore Tyler's gaze. "What can I get y'all to drink or eat?"
I look at the older man with the bald head and white goatee. He's big but not like obese, like a beer gut.
"Uh, we will have all vanilla milkshakes and a order of cheese fries." I write it down and look back at him. "What's the best cake or dessert here?"
"Well, most people eat the red velvet or pecan pie, but there are other desserts that aren't mention on the menu." He nods and looks down the bar at the others.
"Can we get a slice of pecan pie and red velvet truffles." I nod and write it down.
"Is that all?" He nods and I put the ticket in and make their shakes and get their desserts. Dan finishes up the food and I give it to them and stand back at the register.
"Hey ma'am, what's your name?" I look at Tyler's grandma and smile. Her blue eyes shine bright underneath the dim light. Her greyish brown hair is beautiful. I walk to her and stand there.
"My name's Rusty." She smiles.
An hour later, I watch them leave when I spot the tip on the bar. I pick it up and count it. Fifty dollars...fuck...biggest tip this month.
Out the corner of my eye I see Carli fall with food going everywhere. I rush over there and look at her bloodshot eyes and the scratches on her face.
I clean everything up and she goes off to the bar and I give the customers their food free of charge. I walk to Carli and yank her behind the wall behind us. We both look down and I see the track mark on her arms.
"What the hell, Carli?" We look at each other. "Why are you using?"
She shrugs and I sigh. "You're fired. I want you to leave and I want your shit out of the apartment by the time I get home tonight." She jerks away from me and runs out of the diner.
By the time I came home all of her stuff was still in her room. I grab my phone and call her mom and she picks up on the first ring.
"Hey, Rusty!" I take a deep breath.
"She's using again." The long goes silent. "She has fresh track marks on her arms and she fell today and ruined a customers food. I fired her and told her to get her stuff out and she hasn't came to get it." Silence once more. "I can't have her around if she doesn't stop. I hope y'all understand."
"We do. We will handle it." I clear my throat and I hear a quiet sniffle. "I'm going to go. I'll see you tomorrow when we come to get her stuff."
"Okay." Kris hangs up and a light knock comes from the door. I set my phone down and make my way to the door.
I pull it open to see Moose, a friend from high school, standing there with a smile on his face. I smile and hug him.
"I stopped by the diner but you weren't there." I chuckle.
"Yeah I get off at midnight." We pull away from each other and I let him in. "I'll be back. I need to change clothes."
He nods and I quickly go to my room and change. I come back out and sit beside him on the couch.
"I see your outfit choices are still the same." I smile. "I'm getting married."
