As Faith Mikaelson sat on her bed in her and her sisters room, drawing, she thought about what it would be like to meet her family.
Story after story, the people she heard about became more like fairy tale characters than actual beings to her.
She had always wanted to meet her Uncle Kol, he seemed to have the personality she liked. Out of her and her sister, Hope, Faith was more outgoing. She always made sure her opinions were heard, and she wasn't shy in any sense of the word.
She couldn't wait to be able to go shopping with her Aunt Bekah. Trying on all the different skirts, dresses and shoes appealed so much to the young girl.
She was looking forward to learning more spells with her Aunt Freya. She wanted to know how to actually use her powers, so she would not have to wear a bracelet constantly to control them.
Her mother had often spoke of her Uncle Elijah, and the look in her eyes as she spoke of him was always so sad. She could tell her mother especially missed her uncle.
But the one person she was the most thrilled to meet was her father, Niklaus Mikaelson. Meeting him, her dad, was definitely her favorite dream. Getting to discuss her passion for art with him, getting to call him Dad, hear all his stories, she just couldn't wait.
She remembered one time going to the park, it was one of the first times she realized her family wasn't like the others.
There was a small family, two kids, a dog, but there wasn't just a mom. A tall man sat laughing with them too, he looked lovingly at each and every one of the children, as they cried out "Dad!" when he tickled them.
She'd never had that experience before, not that she could remember.
Snapping our of her trance, she thought she heard Mary's car outside. She glanced down at her newest drawing and furrowed her eyebrows at the strange serpent like drawing.
Looking to their mother leaning in the doorway, the girls asked their mother, "Is that her?" in sync. Hayley, at first, was very surprised by this, especially when they both said their first words at the exact same time, but over time she had gotten used to hearing their voices as one.
"Let me check. Stay inside." She ordered her daughters before walking out of the room.
The girl's both nodded, before Faith turned back to her drawing. Once again she furrowed her eyebrows, before reaching for her black pencil.
.........
While Klaus Mikaelson was still being held in the basement of his old home, Hayley Marshall was closing the back to her truck that held the original family.
Each member of the family had their own coffin, which Hayley would admit was a struggle to transport whenever they needed to move.
When the door was secured, the twins mother turned around and began walking towards the three girls.
"Mom," Faith groaned, slightly annoyed, "Do you have to go?" She strongly questioned with her sister nodding along in protest. Hope mostly let her older sister do the talking, she was never afraid to speak her mind and they always agreed.
"I do," Hayley responded, "but I'll be back very, very soon. And I won't be alone." She told them slightly shaking her head with a large smile on her face. She knew about the dreams each of her daughters had about their family, their wishes she hoped to grant soon.
Understanding what she meant, both girls grinned, excited with the prospect of meeting the rest of the Mikaelson family.
Stepping forward, she enveloped the two in a tight embrace, saying into their ears, "I'll call you every night before bed, okay? In the meantime," she began, pulling back from the hug, "you two listen to Mary. Deal?"
Kissing her fingers, she held them out, the twins doing the same putting them together, "Deal." They responded, this motion was a handshake of sorts the three Marshall women shared. It was better than saying goodbye, that dreaded word that Faith loathed.
Watching their mother get into her truck, the girls sighed sadly glancing down at their feet. Seeing this movement, Mary places her hand on each of the twins shoulder, giving a slight squeeze. "How about we make some cookies?" the grandmother figure proposed.
.........
Elsewhere from New Orleans, where a young boy had just been taken by the biggest threat to the Mikaelson family, two girls were waking up from a nightmare.
Hearing there heart rates pick up, Mary Kenner went to go check on the twins. Flipping the light switch, she found them both laying in their beds holding their stuffed animals tightly. Hope had a bunny, while Faith clutched a gray wolf.
"Faith. Hope," Mary calls, "Sweethearts, are you okay?" She questioned them.
Moving onto her sisters bed, Hope answers, sniffling, "We had a bad dream."
Laying behind the two and pulling them into her embrace , "Oh, darlings it's all right." She reassured them, "You're both safe. I'm not going anywhere."
Looking at the photos laying on the bottom of Faiths bed, numerous drawings of the serpent eating itself lay on the ground. Faith stared at the image, she couldn't look away.
