A Chapter of Flashbacks in Life of Hayley Marshall
16 Years Ago
"This is your family's house? What the hell happened here?" Hayley asked as she looked around the destroyed area.
"A battle, obviously. They lost, I won. The world is right again. Why don't you find a bedroom. Preferably one that hasn't been contaminated by Marcel's miscreant pests." Klaus told her in response.
"I'm not staying here. This isn't a home. This-this is a war zone." Hayley denied.
"You see that crest? My heirs belongs here. What you want is of no consequence." Klaus pointed to the M on the wall.
"Klaus, I can be your hostage, or we can try and be better than that. For our children. We can try and make them feel safe." Hayley tried to explain.
"I'll have someone clean this up. Why don't you take Kol's room. It has a fireplace." Klaus directed.
"Klaus. I want to believe that these babies mean something to you. I want to believe in you. Don't let us down." Hayley told him.

"They need names, Hayley." Klaus told her from where he stood, in the last day his daughters had been born, kidnapped, and almost killed.
"Zoe? Caitlin? Katherine?" Hayley proposed, smirking as she said the last one.
"God, no." Klaus denied, while giving a little smile.
"I never knew I could love something so much. It honestly feels... awful. Like it might kill me." Hayley told him as she continued to stare at the babies who slept soundly in their car seats.
"It nearly did. I'm sorry the beginning of their life was so violent." Klaus apologized.
"It's not your fault, Klaus. I know that you fought for us." Hayley reassured him.
"You know, when Elijah thought you were dead, he said we'd lost our family's only hope and that there was no faith left for the Mikaelsons." Klaus remembered.
"'Hope.' Hope Mikaelson, and her big sister Faith Mikaelson." Hayley told him.
"Hope Andrea Mikaelson, and Faith Henrietta Mikaelson." Klaus said, Henrik would be remember too.

"Who knew that an 11-year-old's birthday party would be so exhausting? Oh, they, uh, they really liked the bikes you got them." Hayley told him over a facetime call.
"Well, she doesn't need to know where it's from." Klaus told her in response, only really speaking about his eldest.
"Look, I can't fix this if I don't know why you two aren't speaking. You still talk to Hope, but not her." Hayley told her.
"Well, that's actually why I'm calling. We no longer need to continue having these little chats. You've done a fine job with her. And I trust you'll continue to do as such." Klaus told her.
"Since when do Mikaelsons bail on each other?" Hayley looked at him with disbelief.
"You're not a Mikaelson. You've escaped us, Hayley. For God's sake, take the win." Klaus retaliated.
"I'm not giving up on you, Klaus." Hayley told him before he ended the call. He couldn't hear it anymore.
