The musty attic of her home always fascinated her. She'd discovered this particular room a few days prior and had decided she wanted to show Hope the room as well.
Hope was reading aloud a depressing passage of a book for the two of them, while Faith explored the rest of the room looking for more treasures. She'd found so many century old items already, reminding her of how old her family actually was.
"Not exactly the most uplifting reading material." Their father interrupted, as he walked into the room.
Breathing a sigh of relief that it was only her dad, Hope explained, "Its an old book of rhymes. There's a lot of weird stuff here, Faith found this room a few days ago." That last part caused Faith to glare at her sister, not wanting her dad to know she was wandering around.
"You know, girls, I'd rather you didn't play here, actually. All the splinters and the dust..." seeing their sad expressions he added, "and the bats."
"There aren't any bats," Both girls denied his claim, shaking their heads.
"I've seen no evidence that your Uncle Elijah doesn't sleep here, hanging upside down."
Chuckling softly, Faith asked, "Dad was there a little boy who used to live here? I found a bunch of toys, they look really old." she said walking towards her father and sister.
Not answering her question, Klaus just said, "Come along girls. We can discuss ancient history another time." he held out his hand.
Faith immediately grabbed it, while Hope leaned back quickly to grab one of the old small army men her sister was playing with.
.........
Faith wasn't sure where Hope was at the moment, but she knew she wasn't in their room. She didn't want her parents to worry though, so when she heard her mother in the living room, she quickly jumped into one the closets with slits in them that looked like shudders.
"Im gonna say night to the twins." Hayley told Klaus, who after a moment of hesitation warned her to wait, but he was too late.
Covering up her gasp, Faiths eyes widened at her mothers neck being snapped and opened even further when she saw her father angrily come up behind the man, who gasped in agony before Klaus pulled his heart out of his chest.
Horrified with what she was watching, Faith begin hyperventilating, but tried her hardest to calm down so she would not be heard. Chuckling then sounded from the entrance as a man walked in, "Impressive boundary spell. Unfortunately it only lasts as long as the witch who cast it."
.........
Faith was terrified.
the screams
the blood
She couldn't even feel her feet on the ground, as she watched her father kill and beat people with a hammer.
This father who always called her sweetheart, who always played with her whenever she asked.
Hope
Where was Hope?
She was snapped out of her train of thought by the bad man standing up again, "The hollows gonna have a feast tonight, sacrifice the whole family." he spoke, "Your daughters are around here, aren't they? How convenient." he walked towards her father.
That was his mistake.
Her father quickly got back up, and stabbed the man blood flowing from his lips.
"Hope! Faith!" before flashing away to wear he thought he heard both his daughters.
Walking slowly out of the closet, Faiths wide eyes looked at the compound that was covered in red, before running to her room where the tears started.
.........
"Faith! Faith!" Klaus yelled, bursting into her room to find her sitting on her bed, reading a book.
"Faith, are you okay." Klaus said, fast pace walking to her bed and sitting on the edge.
Glancing up Faith said, "I'm fine, why? Did something happen?" she asked trying to seem curious.
"No nothing at all, nothing to worry about, just couldn't find you." Klaus reassured after a moment of hesitation.
"Alright, that's good, well I was gonna get some sleep soon."
"Sounds good, I love you Faith," Klaus whispered before kissing her head and leaving the room.
The moment that door closed, her eyes filled with tears once again.
