Lance screamed in shock, his laughter fading. "KEITH, YOU LITTLE—" they broke the surface, a large lump pushing Keith deeper into the water. They both flailed desperately to the surface, Lance quickly diving away so he wasn't drowning poor Keith. Their parents would not be surprised if they killed each other on the first day.
"Little what, huh?" Keith tried to act tough but he was too busy trying to regulate his breathing & laughter. Before Keith had a chance to think, Lance lunged at the off-guard raven-haired boy. His shit-eating grin spreading evilly across his features. "Come here you little shit" "LANCE" Keith desperately tried to escape but it was no good. Lance was way faster, he always had been. He was in the squad's team back in middle school. Keith, on the other hand, wasn't exactly bad, just not as good as Lance. It was one thing Lance praised himself on at being better at.
"GET OFF ME YOU FAT-" His words were no longer understandable, rather disrupted by water filling his mouth momentarily. "Fat what, huh?" Lance challenged, pulling him back above the surface by his waist. Keith gasped, he hadn't realised the tanned hands gripping his waist. He tried to look up but his hair covered his face, including blush, which was a perk I guess. "Nugget" He muttered blankly. "KEITH! I'm not a nugget! How dare you" Keith brushed his black locks out of his face, glancing up at the Cuban boy glaring back at him in a teasing way. "You're gonna regret that mullet" Lances lips quirked up into a slight smirk. Keith knew something bad was coming, his eyes filling with cation as he watched the Cuban boy just stare at him. His features much like a cat watching, stalking their prey. He swore he could see an emotion described as hunger glimmer in his eyes. Keith glanced down at his lips, the soft, plump flesh looking irresistible. Lance did same, desperate to taste the soft, pink, lips just within his reach.
They both wanted it, crave each others touch. "I'll get my revenge on you Kogane" Lance exclaimed before reluctantly removing his hands from the boys pale thin waist and swimming away as if unfazed. Keith's sides felt cold without his touch, like something was missing. That something was Lance McCain. He sighed, diving deep into the water. His body gliding across the smooth pale blue floor of the pool. His thoughts far away from reality.
"Why'd I want it so bad? Why do I want him so bad? Why can't I be satisfied as friends? Why can't I help but want to risk it all for a chance at us? Why me? why Lance? Anyone else, please"
"What's up with me! I should just tell Keith. He didn't shy away from my touch. Maybe I have a chance"
"Anyone but Lance, please"
"I need Keith"

After lunch, the four siblings got into Veronica's Jeep. "I didn't know your sister got a Jeep" Lance looked over at his raven-haired friend. "Hm, oh I'm surprised. She talks about it all the time" Veronica grinned, patting the side of her baby proudly. "I swear she'd choose this over me, her own best friend" Taylor wiped a fake tear away with an equally fake sniffle. "No doubt about that" The McClain daughter stated. "Uh, what! I was kidding!" Taylor punched her best friends arm "ow! Well, I wasn't" this earned a death glare from the slightly shorter obsidian-haired female. "Why are we friends?" "I don't even know Tay Tay" "don't call me that" Veronica chucked, seemingly winning the small argument. "Wow, they sure act like a married couple" Lance commented. "Says you! Have you ever seen you and Keith!" Taylor smirked, turning to the boys. "Uh, excuse me! Nobody asked for your opinion" Lance shot back with a sassy tone. "Oh really?" "GUYS. Stop fighting in my car. Your not even related" Although they aren't, they'd practically grown up together so they often felt like siblings.
It didn't take long before the black Jeep pulled up in a small forest clearing. "Alrighty, let's get going" the group of four got out the car, all in their swimsuits and Jandals. Taylor was in an olive green bikini top, contrasting with her pale skin, and black shorts. Veronica in a warm yellow bikini set that complimented her tanned skin and ocean eyes. Keith In his usual red swim trunks, Lance in blue.
They ran down the narrow path leading through the trees. The two older siblings leading their brothers. It was a comfortable silence as they watch the scenery unfold. Trees wove above them, sheltering them from the harsh sun. Birds danced and sung above them, shadows escaping through the cracks of greenery above. The firm ground beneath them echoed slightly with footsteps as they jogged steadily.
They reached a clearing ahead, looking out over the ocean. Lance looked down. He saw a cliff face. The drop was harsh, the height mild. "Are we jumping?" Before he got an answer the two girls kicked off their shoes, leaping off the cliff with no such hesitation. A few screams and giggles were heard before a large splash. "What the fuck? Are they nuts?" Then he was alone. He watched as Keith dropped peacefully, no sound whatsoever. He landed gracefully in the water, resurfacing as if nothing happened. "Keith!? You went without me!" Keith smirked slightly. "Too slow McClain" Lance huffed, stepping closer to the edge. He took a deep breath because following his friends into a water with no fest. He whooped in joy before hitting the water. Although he missed his friend's calls. "you left your shoes on your dumbass!" Lance looked down through the clear crystal water. He could see his tanned feet that were recently occupied, now bare. "Shit" he dived down, scanning the water. "They're gone!!" Keith rolled his eyes. "How the fuck did you forget anyway?" "I don't know!" Veronica and Taylor snickered. "Come on we don't have all day" Taylor announced, snapping Lance back to reality. He gave up on his mysterious disappearance of jandals.
The group started swimming along the shore. Luckily it was pretty quiet and the current wasn't strong in this area. It was easy for them to swim close to the shoreline and rocks. Keith looked around in awe. On one side was a ridiculously steep cliff. On the other was crystal blue waters stretching for miles. Fish swam inquisitively around the humans, pretty used to human interaction by now. Keith dove under the salty surface. He watched the friendly critters dancing around his body, following them along the shoreline.
It wasn't long before the four were collapsed in the golden sands tuck along the shores, hidden behind an island. Not many people knew about this place. It was always Taylor and Veronica's escape when studying, or life in general, got too hard.
Where the sand met the sea, dark golden grains washed in and out. The sand a lighter beige where the water could no longer reach at this time of day. Behind the beach stood cliffs, surrounding the island, isolating it from humanity. No houses, no boats, no humans. It was perfect.
Lance jumped up after he was done resting. "Keith!" Keith groaned, his arm covering his eyes from the harsh sun. He lay in the sand, soaking up the warmth. "There's caves!" This got his attention. Keith sat up, following Lance's pointed finger. "Come on let's check em out!" Lance grabbed his hands, pulling him up. Keith let him. He kept one hand locked into Keith as they ran across the sand. Just to drag him along, not like he craved it or anything.
Taylor and Veronica giggled.
"now they're handing hands, can they just fuck already"
"did you see the way they looked at each other. They're so oblivious!"
Ahh sorry, that took awhile. I've been really busy. My horse, Millie, is my main priority right now. Updates should be more frequent now though!
