The atmosphere changed to a damp, dark aurora. Moss grew everywhere, water dripping down the walls. The two boys walked deeper in the cave, the natural lighting slowly fading. Although eerie, there was a slight romantic vibe. Lance glanced at the pale boy beside him. His cheekbones looking especially prominent in this lighting. Even his lips look more plump in the low light.
They walked deeper in, the space surrounding them getting darker and darker. Lance had to force himself not to intertwine his fingers with the smooth ones brushing against his occasionally. That would be quite awkward, two boys alone in a dark cave, randomly holding hands.
Keith gasped, Lance's attention snapped back to reality. There in front of them was a heap of fireflies. The boys watched in awe as thousands of tiny living lights danced around the ceiling, lighting up and dim cave. Keith's eyes sparkled, a beautiful sight Lance would remember forever. He was too busy stuck in a trance that he didn't realise the loving gaze taking in his features before resting on his lips.
"Fuck. I want to kiss him so bad. Swoop him off his feet and make him mine right here, right now"
Lance thought to himself, trying to contain his argues. He sighed, focusing his attention on the other, once in a lifetime sight in front of him.
"Right here, I will tell him right here"
And with that, the two boys embarked on their journey back to the beach. Both still in awe.

Veronica and Taylor were laying in the sun tanning, both chatting and giggling away. Lance and Keith tiptoed through the sand, approaching from behind. Their hands locked over their mouths to stop their giggling to give them away. They weren't even 1 meter away when suddenly both girls jumped around, tackling their brothers. Lance screamed, not very manly might add I. Keith cursed in shock. "HOW??" Lance yelled in shock. They just smirked. "I THOUGHT WE FOR SURE HAD YOU!" "Nope, you never will" both boys huffed, Lance clearly more pissed off than his mostly expressionless friend.
"KEITH" Keith raises his eyebrows, wondering what the did. "WE'RE GOING SWIMMING" Keith didn't have a chance to object before he was, literally, dragged into the crystal blue waters.
The two young adults spent the rest of their morning splashing and doing silly little competitions like who can catch a fish & who can do the most Rolly Polly's. It was as if they were children again, forgetting the pressure of school and society. It was just the two of them, against the rippling waves of the salty ocean.
Soon enough, they all became hungry. Deciding it was best to go back in time to go out for lunch with their parents.
Upon reaching land, Lance realised something. While everyone's stuff was waiting for them, Lance's shoes were still gone. He'd lost the second one too. He groaned, remembering the uneven path covered in rocks, leaves, sticks & insects. "Shit" he trailed behind slowly, tiptoeing and cringing with every step. "Ow, ow, shit, ah, ow" "would you stop complaining" Keith groaned in annoyance. "Sorry about it, this fuck path isn't pleasant on bare feet mister shoe man. Keith stopped, waiting for Lance to catch up. This left one confused Cuban male slowly making his way to the pale boy who was watching him with a blank expression.
"Here" Keith held his arms out. "What?" "I'll carry you" Lance's eyes widened. Too close, Lance would surely break down. "No, no, I'm fine thanks" He forced a smile, going to walk past him. However, strong hands met his waist. They dragged him close to the pale bird bare chest. Keith smiled lightly, trying to calm Lance. It seemed to do the opposite, instead of making his tanned cheeks flush a light salmon pink. Keith wrapped his arms around the tense boy, pulling him up to his chest. He wasn't the lightest, but Keith would manage. They started back down the path again, this time alone as their sisters were long gone.
Lance felt unusually calm in Keith hold, his side snuggled up to Keith's chest. He could hear the boy heartbeat, feeling as if his own melted into the rhythm. His arms were wrapped around the raven-haired boy's pale neck. He felt their skin pressed together, radiating warmth.
Keith's arms were starting to tire, carry basically your own weight up and down slight hills in 98 degrees (36 Celsius) wasn't the easiest task, funny enough. Especially when your hearts doing funny things in your chest. It didn't help when Lance's caramel locks tickled his neck softly.
"Damn he's heavy" Keith thought.
"I could use to this" Lance smirked.

"If it isn't the lovebirds" Keith shot them a deathly glare in warning. "Awh Keithy" Taylor began. Lance snickered at the nickname. "how kind of you to carry your incapable boyfriend" It was Keith's turn to snicker. "Excuse me! I'm not incapable" Keith dropped him into his feet, this earned an un-manly screech. "Keith! There are sharp things!" Everyone but Lance burst out laughing. "Pick me up right now!" He demanded. "Sure, baby boy" Lance's cheeks immediately flushed cherry red, his eyes wide. "Why would you say that!?" The three young adults laughed even harder, barely able to breathe. Keith scooped the boy up, throwing him over his shoulder. "Keith!" Keith spun around, leaving a dizzy Cuban boy both clinging on for life and pounding his fists into Keith's back playfully.
"Get a room you two"
