I wrapped my arms around her shoulders to stop her from collapsing to the floor, reeking of the putrid smell of vomit and alcohol. The last weekend of the Summer holidays and of course, someone throws a party.
I scanned the parking lot for Chloe's car. Teens poured out of the club, mostly laughing and smoking, looking like their night wasn't going to end for a while as most of them were surprisingly still fully clothed.
"C-c-car g-gone, J-Jess." Stuttering as she wiped vomit from her cheek. Great, Jess must have had another argument with her boyfriend and stormed off home. Guess we're going to have to walk home, and with Chloe in this state, well, that's just swell.
We walked through the park until we came to a clearing, twenty more minutes and we'll be home thank God, Chloe had already managed to throw up all over my new shoes, which she'll be replacing. It was early in the morning so my Dad will be passed out in his study again, so it's not like I have to think of any excuses as to why I was out so late.
"Do you need any help?"
I spun around, shocked by the unexpected voice. A guy appeared behind me, he looked about eighteenish, his light blonde hair spiked up, his light blue eyes almost glowing in the moonlight. Oh, Chloe was going to love this, she had a thing for cute blondes, but she's not exactly looking her best. He took Chloe's other arm and put it over his shoulder.
"So, party huh?" Looking at Chloe, no doubt, she was normally the girl all the guys go for. Yet looking at her now, vomit covered her mousy brown hair hair, sticking to her cheeks, and remains of some sort of purple alcohol staining the skin on her chest, just lovely. I smiled to myself.
"What's so funny?" He looked at me grinning.
"Oh, nothing, so what brings you here? I've never seen you around."
"Just moved here four weeks ago from London, I'm living with my mum at the moment."
"Oh yeah, Smelly here moved from London too when she was like, three." We'd been best friends since the first week she moved here. I was always picking her up from the gutter, literally. I didn't mind though, I loved her even through the mess she leaves me with. I didn't blame her though, through the shit she's been through, I suppose she's just drowning her worries with Jack Daniels and shots. People have different ways of getting through their worries.
"My name's Sam by the way." His eyes studying me. Butterflies formed in my stomach, oh my God he is gorgeous. The gray V neck tee shirt he wore defined his arm muscles well and the black jeans and converse just made the fit.
"I'm um, Hannah May and this is Chloe." Swallowing nervously, wishing Chloe would wake up anytime soon so it wouldn't be so awkward, but he was so hot!! Chloe was the best one in this kind of situation, when there's an awkward silence she'll just shout "Awkwarrrrddd.....". You see she's the kind of girl that would randomly go up to people and scream "Hello!!!" In their faces if they weren't paying attention to what she was saying. She was just simply well, bonkers.
"H-h-hii." Chloe managed a wonky smile and a pathetic wave before throwing up and passing out again. Sam just laughed.
"So is she usually like this?" He asked once he had stopped laughing, which then made me laugh.
"Yes, no, kinda, she does it often," Really she did it whenever she could, but I wasn't ready to make my best mate sound like a drunken goof just yet. But the light in the front room window was on, lighting up the front garden. Shit, my Dad was up, and he was about to catch me with a hot boy and a passed out vomit covered Chloe. Fantastic, just fantastic.
"I've got her thanks Sam, byee!!!" I hurried across the lawn, Chloe only lived next door, but knowing her father he wouldn't be too happy about her not being in and studying, so Chloe was staying at mine, like she always does when she's this badly gone.
"Wait, will I see you again?!" The boy looked genuinely concerned, it was almost adorable.
"Maybe, I don't know, but you know where I live, so um, meet tomorrow at 7pm?" Wow, I've just clicked on about how I was showing a total stranger where I lived, but it's not like he looks dangerous.
"Okay, seven, I'll see you around, Hannah May." and with that he turned and walked back down the path that we had come, walking further and further into until he had disappeared into the darkness completely.
