Hauling Chloe up on her legs wasn't as easy as it looked, I found out when trying to walk her to my front door. My Dad wasn't going to be very happy seeing her in this state, but I wasn't very happy seeing him in this state either. Normally he would be passed out on the couch before I even got in, which was lucky normally. When I say it was "lucky" though, I don't mean it's fun. Watching my family break up all around me wasn't fun nor lucky at all. Ever since my Mum has died my Dad's been like this. Getting drunk to pass the time, getting drunk to heal the pain of loss, mostly just getting drunk. My brother Charlie helps him sometimes, but he's twenty two, he's supposed to have a life of his own, supporting my father because he got fired from his job was not part of a young man's job. He has a child on the way, but I suppose I can't look after my Dad...

"W-where ha-a-ve you b-been?" His eyes were drowsy and couldn't keep focus, but his attention turned to Chloe, and even through all the alcohol, pain set in his eyes.
"G-go to b-bed" I stared at him shocked, I've never seen him awake when he's drunk. I normally escape to Chloe's house or go out. But looking at what he was doing to himself was just painful.
"G-go!!" He screamed at me one more time, his finger directing to the stairs, shaking.
I followed his orders and half carried/dragged Chloe up the stairs. Opening my bedroom door, I flung Chloe down on the small bed, pushing her so she was facing the wall and climbing into bed, wrapping my arms around her so I didn't fall off. I started to think about what life would be like if Mum was alive. I guess things would be different, at that thought, I felt the strings of sleep pulling at me. Well, until Chloe started gagging and threw up all over my hand.
Shit. Ew. This was not going to be fun. I raced to get a bag as Chloe started gagging again, putting it in front of her face. I picked up a pillow off the floor and set it down on the small blue sofa against the wall. After washing my vomit covered hands I clambered onto the sofa, curling up into a ball, and with that I slept, thinking about that boy, Sam...
