Nathalie takes Adrien home, where his father is already waiting in the entryway. "What you did was completely reckless!" Gabriel shouts at his son. "You know what I wanted you to do, and you blatantly disobeyed me!"

"But Father, I was speaking from my heart," Adrien argues. "How I feel about Marinette is a lot more important to me than any career, especially yours!"

"Because you have disobeyed me, there will be consequences," Gabriel says. "From now on, you are under total lockdown. No more school, no spending time with friends, and no girlfriends!"

"That isn't fair!" Adrien shouts. "I love Marinette. You can't keep me away from her!"

"Watch me," Gabriel huffs. "Nathalie, escort my son to his room. And make sure he stays there!" He then disappears up the stairs, his hands clasped behind his back.

Nathalie takes Adrien to his room. Once he is inside, she leaves and closes the door behind her.

"I won't stand for this, you know!" Adrien shouts after her. "This kind of life might be fine for him, but not for me!" Angry and heartbroken, he drops down on the couch. "How could my father do this to me?"

"Honestly, did you expect anything different?" Plagg asks.

"No, I guess not," Adrien huffs, his arms folded. "But it still isn't fair." He sits there for a moment, absorbing everything that happened today. Anger burns in him towards his father, but then he thinks back to Marinette, and the kiss they shared. Smiling, he pulls out his phone. "Father may think he's keeping me from Marinette, but he can't control who I call!" He pulls her number up on speed dial, and presses the 'call' button.

As soon as Adrien leaves in the car with Nathalie and his bodyguard, Marinette heads home. She is still in a state of shock, but is also filled with a joy she has never felt.

Once she gets to her house, her parents are waiting for her in the living room. "So, what happened?" Sabine asks. Tom still looks unsure whether he wants to hear what happened or not.

"Well, I'm not completely sure yet," Marinette tells them, rubbing the back of her head nervously. "But... I think I might have a boyfriend now."

Sabine gives her daughter a hug. Tom looks a bit worried, but he places a supportive hand on Marinette's shoulder. "We're happy for you, sweetheart," he says.

"Thanks Dad," Marinette says. She then gives each of them a kiss on the cheek, and heads up to her room. Once she enters, Alya calls her. "Hello?" She answers, in a dreamy tone of voice.

"Okay girl, spill. What the heck just happened on my TV?" Alya asks.

"What do you mean?" Marinette asks, playing dumb.

"What do you mean, 'what do I mean'?" Alya practically shouts. "I'm talking about Adrien, declaring his love for you for all of Paris to see!"

"Yeah," Marinette giggles happily. "Pretty amazing, huh?"

"Amazing?" Alya echoes. "Try 'out-of-this-world, crazy, stellar, groundbreaking'! Did I miss something? What exactly happened between the two of you?"

"It's... really difficult to explain," Marinette says.

     "Try me."

Marinette thinks back to all the events that led up to her and Adrien declaring their feelings for each other, and she can't think of a way to tell Alya any of it without revealing that they are Ladybug and Cat Noir. "Let's just say, we discovered some things about each other that we didn't know before."

"No kidding!" Alya says, squealing into the phone. "I'm so happy for you, Marinette! So, how does it feel to finally be with Adrien?"

Marinette blushes. "It feels... wonderfully indescribable," she replies. Then she feels her phone buzzing, and looks at the screen. "He's calling me!" She says, half nervous and half excited.

"Go ahead and answer it girl," Alya says with a laugh. "I don't wanna keep you from your man!" She then says goodbye, and hangs up.

Marinette answers her phone. "Hey there," she says with a wide smile. "How did things go at home?"

"Honestly, not very good," Adrien admits. "My father is furious, and told me I'm not allowed out of the house."

"Not even for school?" She asks.

"Not even to see you," he says sadly.

"What? But how can he do that?" Marinette says, surprised.

"Don't worry, he can't keep me from you," Adrien says. He then adds, "You can't get rid of me that easily, Milady." She can almost hear the teasing smile in his voice.

"You are one stubborn cat," she says playfully. The two of them laugh, and then sigh happily.

"I should probably go now," Adrien says finally. "I don't want Nathalie to catch me on the phone with you. My father might have her take it away from me."

"Definitely wouldn't want that," Marinette agrees. She pauses nervously for a moment before adding, "I love you, Adrien."

"I love you too, Marinette," Adrien says. He then hangs up, and she puts her phone down. She falls back onto her bed, still feeling like this is all some sort of crazy dream that she doesn't want to wake up from.
