Chapter Eleven

Finally, after VidCon, you got back home, and got your life back to normal. You even continued to have a pretty good friendship with Dan and Phil, although things were a bit awkward with Dan since VidCon. You both agreed to mentally block out "the incident," as you had dubbed it, and that was that.

You sat in a small corner of a quaint little coffee shop, waiting for Dan. He wanted to see you here to ask you "something big." You couldn't help but wonder what it was.

Maybe he's asking me out on a date? Ew, no (Y/n). Get those thoughts out of your head. You're just a fan that happened to befriend him and Phil. He doesn't know you've secretly been attracted to him for years. He thinks of you as nothing more than a friend. Get that inside your head. Friend. Maybe he wants to be more than that? Okay, I need to stop. He said he likes Emma anyway...

(yes, the thing dan said outside your flat/apartment is still important so don't forget it)

To distract yourself from the thoughts that maybe, possibly, Dan had taken a liking to you, you decided to get a coffee/tea.

The waiter was a man that looked around your age, with light brown eyes and short blonde hair. He, surprisingly, was taller than you, at around six feet tall.

After ordering your drink, you actually made small talk. It wasn't the awkward, I'm-only-saying-this-so-it-isn't-silent small talk, it was the genuine I-want-to-get-to-know-you small talk. You learned that his name was Jordan, and that he was very similar to you. Same interests, opinions, humor.

A few moments later, he brought you your coffee/tea, and a small piece of paper with it. Unfolding it, this is what you read:

Are you from Starbucks? Because I like you a latte.

If you want to go out sometime here's my number-

You looked at the paper in your hands. You glanced at Jordan, who was looking at you with hope in his eyes. You didn't want to throw it away and rip his heart out, so you just shoved the paper in your pocket. As soon as you did, you heard footsteps quickly approach from behind you. You turned around to reveal a very angry looking Dan.

"You're not actually considering going out with him?" He asked.

Is he jealous? No, no. He likes Emma, why would he be jealous of some guy I'm going out with? And I'm not even planning on going out with him! Wait, who is he to say who I can go out with?

"Well... Maybe I am!"

"Are you serious? You don't even know him!"

"So? It's my life! Don't try to tell me how to live it!"

With that, Dan muttered something under his breath and stormed out.

What the fuck just happened?

*Dan's POV*

~Anti time skip~

Today is the day. I'm finally going to ask (Y/n) out on a date. I've wanted to since the day we met, being a fan and all, but I'm really going to do it now. I just hope I'm not too far into the friendzone?

Approaching the coffee shop, I see two things. (Y/n), sitting at a table, and a man around our age talking to her. He slipped her a piece of paper with her drink and then went behind the counter.

I walked into the shop, and I heard one of the waiter's coworkers say, "You're asking her out with a note? How middle school of you."

I looked at (Y/n), and she shoved the note in her pocket.

Are you kidding me? That's supposed to be me, not him!

In my frustration, I stomped over to (Y/n)'s table and asked, "You're not actually considering going out with him?"

She looked at me in confusion before responding. "Well... Maybe I am!"

This is all going wrong. Just like everything else in my life.

"Are you serious? You don't even know him!"

"So? It's my life! Don't try to tell me how to live it!"

"Well I'll go and get a date for myself then." I muttered before storming out. I don't think she even heard me.

do you hate me? if you don't yet you will soon, with what i have planned. but hey, it'll all end well.
