Raven chose a seat in the very back corner of Jordan's class room. He played a song by the Stylistics as the students clamored into his class room .Most had a puzzled look on their faces. He continued writing notes for them to take on the blackboard .There was giggling and horseplay .I guess they thought that he wasn't paying attention. Take your seats and settle down he spoke in a tone that challenged any of them to try anything again. The giggles subsided and they settled in. You all know better than this he chastised them .We have a guest today so I suggest you all be on your best behavior he warned them ;darting glances at specific students Raven assumed he knew would act up if given the chance .
He began the lesson as the students were copying what he had written on the board. Does anyone know who this group is? And what type of music they are classified as?
Students shook their heads with confused looks on their faces.
For those of you who want to have a good vocal range pay attention he told them sharply .He stopped the song and looked around. The Stylistics he began are a soul music vocal group, and were one of the best-known Philadelphia soul groups of the 1970s. They formed in 1968, and were composed of singers Russell Thompkins, Jr., Herb Murrell, Agrion Love, James Smith, and James Dunn. All of their US hits were ballads, graced by the soaring falsetto voice of Russell Thompkins, Jr. and the lush productions of Thom Bell, which helped make the Stylistics one of the most successful soul groups of the first half of the 1970s."[1] During the early 1970s, the group had twelve consecutive U.S. R&B top ten hits, including "Stop, Look, Listen", "You Are Everything", "Betcha by Golly, Wow", "People Make the World Go Round", "I'm Stone in Love with You", "Break Up to Make Up", and "You Make Me Feel Brand New". He told them. There are vast ranges to each singer's voice that contributes to each song he told them. Depending on your own individual vocal range which we have discussed and determined in previous sessions he continued is where you would best sing in a group such as this. Many solo singers show their own abilities without the help of backup singers such as those in a group such as this. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a hand raised.
"Yes Miss Larson "Are you gonna sing for us today she asked as she batted her eyes at him smiling. He chuckled we're discussing the type of music Kennedy not singing "
But Mr. Knight Show us the ranges again please she begged.
He looked to the corner where Raven was sitting .He seen her writing what he assumed were notes for her article or maybe a list of kids she wanted to talk to ? He returned his attention back to his class.
He went and sat down at the piano that was in the classroom and began a melody that he had grown up listening to. My love he found Raven watching him locking eyes with her, He continued I'll never find the words, my love
To tell you how I feel, my love Mere words could not explain Precious love you held my life within your hands created everything I am Taught me how to live again he smiled only you care when I needed a friend
Believed in me through thick and thin This song is for you and with gratitude and love God bless you ; You make me feel brand new For God blessed me with you; You make me feel brand new I sing this song ' cause you Make me feel brand new My love Whenever I was insecure You build me up and made me sure You gave my pride back to me Precious friend With you I always had a friend You're someone who I can depend To walk a path that sometimes bends Without you Life has no meaning or rhyme Like notes to a song out of time How can I repay you for having faith in me God bless you ; You make me feel brand new For God blessed me with you You make me feel brand new I sing this song 'cause you Make me feel brand new he took a long pull from his water bottle when he finished.
