Home Sweet Home

Raven woke up mid-morning feeling refreshed. She got up and decided to explore the city. She and Dominick went to several different stores just looking around. Raven was really enjoying herself when she caught a whiff of a familiar cologne. It stopped her dead in her tracks. She looked around hoping to see Jordan but he was nowhere in sight. "My mind must be playing tricks on me" she thought to herself.

Jordan arrived at his father's house and the two men shook hands and hugged. The fight that they had long forgotten. So what's on your mind son? Alan asked Raven's gonna have triplets and she served me with separation papers, dad. Jordan blurted out Alan put his arm around his youngest sons shoulder and led him into the house. They talked for a while and Jordan was more confused than ever. He walked into the kitchen and heard Alan talking Dad? Did you say something .He heard giggling baby giggling. He stood and listened more.Dadada dadada he heard He turned the corner to the den and saw his father was skyping. He froze. On the screen he saw Asilynne.Dadada he heard again. Alan was laughing and talking back to the baby when he heard his front door close, the sound of a car starting and speeding away.

Jordan went looking for Raven. He knew she was in the city so he had to find her. He knew he didn't want to lose her or the babies. Raven and Dominick were in one of the baby stores looking around. They were enjoying each other's company. She was looking at bassinets when she heard shouting coming from the front of the store. She looked up to see Jordan outside banging on the window and shouting "RAVEN! RAVEN! BABY I LOVE YOU! I'M SO SORRY! PLEASE TALK TO ME!" She looked at him and felt sorry for him. Everything in her wanted to run to him and hold him again but she stopped herself. She turned and walked away to where she couldn't see him anymore. As she was walking away the tears came hot and heavy. Dominick helped her sit down and a couple of customers were talking to her and making sure she was ok. "Dominick can we please go. I'm not feeling well." she asked between sobs. He helped her to the car and they went to the hotel. She was confused and hurt but her. Loved him so deeply that she felt sorry for him and wanted to. Comfort him. She decided to cut her trip short so she called and exchanged her ticket for an earlier flight. She wanted to be home with her children. Jordan walked away defeated .He'd lost her .His world was crumbling around him. He loved her so much and he had lost her because of his own stupid ass mistakes. He had been so afraid of fucking up and losing her that he had done exactly what he had feared .Lost her. The words echoed in his head. He got back in the car and floored it .He needed to drive .He couldn't go home without there was no home .He didn't care where he ended up he just needed to drive. A few hours later and after driving around in circles it was like the car was on its own. He parked. He got out and looked around. Finding a spot he parked and went to the trunk. Taking a bottle out of the trunk he sat down on the sand and drank. He had a trunk full so he was set until he could feel the familiar burn of the alcohol and the numbing oblivion it brought to him.

Raven made it home but she was still feeling sick. Her sister Katie stopped by to check on her. "Raven honey where are you?" Katie called as she made her way through the house. "I'm in the bathroom Katie" she said. Katie went into the large master bathroom to see her big sister sitting on the side on the tub crying. "Sissy what's wrong?" she asked as she rushed to her sisters side. "Katie sweetie. I saw Jordan when I was in Boston. He made a scene at a baby store and I left. I came straight home but I haven't been feeling good. I woke up a little bit ago and I was bleeding." Raven told her as tears rolled down her face. "Oh sissy. We need to get you to the hospital like right now and if you don't go with me I'll call an ambulance." Katie told her as she helped her up. Raven knew she was right so she didn't try to fight. It felt like the longest ride to the hospital but it was only about 30 minutes. Raven was taken. Straight back to a room and hooked up to a bunch of monitors. Dr. Lawrence came in to talk with Raven and Katie. "Mrs. Knight the babies are in distress and I believe it's because your blood count is so low again. The best way to save your babies is to deliver them now. We have the best children's hospital in the state and I have no doubt they will be in the best hands. You will be going to the OR for your cesarean in about 10 minutes." Raven was terrified and upset. Jordan was going to miss their birth because of his drinking. Raven made it through the surgery fine but she needed a blood transfusion afterwards. The babies were sent directly to the NICU to be assessed and monitored closely. They were born early and were more than likely going to have complications.
