A few weeks later

It had been weeks since Kennedy trashed Raven's car. Things were finally getting back to normal and Raven seemed much better. "So babe what should we do today?" Raven asked from the bathroom. She had stayed at Jordan's more often than her own house. She felt safe there. "Well it finally stopped raining and it feels decent out so want to go exploring?" he questioned. "That sounds great! I read about a farm near here that we could go see. I'm feeling homesick so maybe it'll help." she said with such enthusiasm that he couldn't tell her no. "Sure sweetie that sounds fun." he replied. He hadn't been to a farm in years so this really would be an adventure for him. Raven's car was still impounded so they were in Jordan's car. They both got dressed pretty quickly and headed out. Jordan noticed Raven checked the door twice to make sure it was locked. He knew what happened had shook her but he didn't realize how much. He opened the door for her and helped her in. He got in and they headed out. He turned the radio on hoping for some upbeat music and of course Bon Jovi comes on. Raven lets out a laugh and it must have been contagious because Jordan found himself laughing along with her. "This must be our song or something. It comes on every time we're in the car." she managed to get out before laughing again. "I have to agree" he said between laughs. They finally stopped laughing after a couple of songs and Jordan reached out and took her hand. He kissed it softly. He looked over at her and though he noticed a glow but chocked it up to all the laughing. They make it to the farm and are strolling along in the orchard. They were talking about everything they could think of. Jordan looked at Raven with a serious look and asked "Do you ever think about having kids?" Raven looked up at him with a surprised look on her face. "Yeah I've thought of it but timing has never been right or I was dating a psycho" she let out a little giggle.

Well I'm completely mentally sound he assured her I mean they do let me shape young minds he quipped She laughed .Yeah I've noticed she told him .They were talking about combining homes or maybe making hers a retreat kind of thing because both jobs required that they were in the city as much as possible . Suddenly they hear someone cussing and a tractor not mowing. Raven smiled and walked up to the farmer. "Do you need help?" she asked. He looked at her with a confused face and said "You're just a little girl, what do you know about tractors?" She grinned and walked over to the tractor and started to take the fuel line off. She pinched one end with a vice grip and pulled out a bunch of hay and grass. She put the line back on and loosened the vice grip. "Try startin it" she said. The farmer hopped up and it started with no issue. "How did you know that?" the puzzled farmer asked. "My daddy's tractor had the same issue so he taught me just in case I got out in the field and it stopped." she said and Jordan noticed she had a cocky grin on her face. "Well thank you ma'am" the farmer said and continued on with his work. Jordan was proud and surprised of her. "Damn woman, you keep giving me more reasons to love you. That was awesome!" he said happily. She stuck her tongue out at him and just laughed and kissed her. She let out a sigh and smiled at him. "So what do you think our future looks like?" Jordan asked. Raven was caught off guard. "Well maybe we should move in together?" she said. "I mean it's the next step right?" she asked. "I suppose so" Jordan responded. They finished the farm tour and made their way to the car. Jordan helped Raven in like usual. He got in and they headed to his house. "So who's moving where?" Raven asked. She was curious to see what he would say. Her house was pretty far outside the city for him to commute and her job kept her in the city a lot as well. "Well since we're in the city for work all the time I figured we could live in my, no our, house. Is that ok baby?" he looked over to see her smiling and shaking her head in agreement. He turned the radio up to hear Def Leppard Pour Some Sugar On Me start. He looked over to see Raven jamming out to the song. He decided to join in. They pulled into his driveway and Raven noticed the window was open. "Jordan your window is open. You should call the cops. Please don't go in there" Raven begged. Jordan heard the fear in her voice do he called the police. It took about 5 minutes for them to arrive. They entered the house to discover it completely trashed. They searched the house but no one was in it. They let Jordan in to see what was missing and filed the report. Raven didn't go in until the officer assured her there was no one there. She walked in to see the mess but before she could do anything she heard screaming from outside. Her and Jordan go out to see what was going on only to see Kennedy fighting with an officer to let her in. "This is my fiancée's house, let me in you jerk. My dad will have your job if you don't let me go!" Jordan told the other officer that he had nothing to do with her and that she's just an obsessed student. There was another scream from Kennedy. This time it was her admitting to trashing the house out of jealousy. The officer Mirandize her and placed her in the back seat of the car. They left the scene and Jordan went to comfort Raven. Raven was oddly calm. She had begun to pick up some of the mess when he came into the house He stopped her .Baby he whispered this can wait .Lets just go hold one another and be glad no one was hurt in this bullshit .He took her in his arms as he raised his phone to his ear making a call.

Jordan decided to take some of his personal days off with everything that had happened over the last forty eight hours. The school board told him to take as long as he needed without worrying about his class .They began that night deciding what furniture would go where to make both houses their home so it wouldn't feel like his house or just her house .He encouraged her to do the same so she called Jim and explained the situation with Kennedy and let him know that she would get the story to him as soon as she could. He told her to take all the time she needed that she had earned it. He needed away from the school, Kennedy, the chaos and hell of it all for the few days.

The next morning Jordan was awake before Raven. He called for a moving truck and made arrangements for mover's .All the sudden he heard Raven run from the bedroom to the bathroom. He got up and stood outside the door .He heard her wrenching .He knocked on the door Baby? She didn't answer he checked the knob .She hadn't locked the door. He pushed the door open and went in anyway .She could get pissed at him later .He kneeled down beside her and pushed a few strands of her hair out of her eyes .She glared at him. Get out she managed to tell him in between spasms .No way baby he murmured. She shot him a death glare he didn't budge .When her stomach finally stopped heaving he helped her up so she could gargle and then helped her back to bed. "Are you ok baby?" Jordan asked softly. "Hell no I'm not ok. I just had puke come out of nose and I have no idea why." she snapped. "I'm sorry baby, I didn't mean to snap at you I'm just not feeling good right now." she apologized. "It's ok, with everything that's happened I completely understand. Do you want me to cancel the movers?" he asked. "No I think I can manage." she said. They head to Raven's house to meet the movers. Jordan goes in first just to check around while Raven went to the mailbox. She went in and was suddenly hit with nausea. She stopped for a second to get it under control. "What is going on with me today?" she thought to herself. As Jordan was boxing up her dishes she looked through the mail. She noticed a letter with the city seal on it. She opened it and read it. "Congratulations on being awarded the outstanding journalism award for your series on the importance of school arts programs. There will be a banquet in your honor on April 24th at 7 pm. The event is a formal event and you can bring one guest." She ran in the house and yelled for Jordan. He came running down the hallway thinking something was wrong. "What baby what's wrong?" he exclaimed. "I won an award for my school arts series! It's the 24th and it's formal! I've never won an award before." she exclaimed excitedly. "Oh wow baby I'm so proud of you. We'll need to go shopping for a proper outfit and maybe jewelry" he winked at her. He hugged her and went back to packing. She stood there looking at the letter. She still had that uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach but just figured it was nerves with the move and Kennedy drama.
