"You're going on a trip?" Manang's eyebrows almost looked like a straight line that means she wasn't convinced "Well do you want me to pack your bags"
"No need Manang" May immediately replies while hurrying upstairs. It's been weeks already, her parents haven't gone home and now there was a chance that she would bump into them. All of her clothes and weapons-a sharp stick and also some little sharp knives that she can hide under her blouse or skirt with a garter. She was warrior after all, suddenly she was worried about Nuriel and Lukas, what were they doing right now? She hasn't seen them or even talked to them ever since she decided to keep AVNAR inside her. She also placed the wig inside her tote bag, she opened the door and saw her butler, Gerard waiting.
"My clothes are packed, I don't need help" May says with a straight face
"Yes I know milady, have you sealed your weaponry?" he smiles softly
May was dumbfounded, how could he have known? "How--"
"--There is no need, forgive me milady but me and your Manang treat you as our own and we worry too. I understand that you must do what you think it is right, I hope you come home to us safe and sound. That would be Manang's only wish"
"I didn't know she was that worried"
"Well of course you were gone for two days without even contacting us, Manang was throwing a hissy fit yesterday, I count seven dishes and and two mugs were broken" he smiles again seemingly amused "She is a woman with great strength"
"Gerard I am so sorry for being irresponsible" May admitted softly trying to hold back her tears, to her Gerard and Manang were part of the family, like a grandmother and grandfather she knew she would never have
"You are forgiven milady, now, I contacted your father's pilot. You will be taking the second private jet your father owns. Please be careful now"
"Oh thank you Gerard!" May hugged the sturdy old man, he seemed surprised then pleased then gained back his butler-like composure "I shall be going my dear"
May rushed downstairs and hugged Manang who was washing the dishes "I'm so sorry for being careless, I should have contacted you"
"Aye aye it's okay my dear I already blew up yesterday so I feel better" she giggled "Now young lady I have no idea what you and your friends are gonna do so you have to promise that you would stay safe no matter what" her face was dead serious that May automatically nodded her head. She turned her back and bid farewell to everyone. She sees the Pilot, Mr. Raffy Smeat whom she knows as Tuffraff who hasn't changed a bit but of course he's human
"Oh sweet Maryjanes! Look at you!" he exclaims "It's been a while but you still look the same, I don't know how you and your pops do it, is it skincare? Makeup--"
"--Makeup, it's all about the makeup. Don't be deceived haha" she forces a laugh but he seemed persuaded which was a good thing cause she hated to lie especially to a sweet man like Raffy.
"I literally forgot how rich the Hayworths are" Debra muttered while stuffing her face with brownies, both May and Gemma gave her an agonizing stare "I'm hungry and besides mom left"
"She's probably at St. Louise too" Gemma whispers to May "She is part of your mother's clan, the lower one that is since Debra was placed under her care so we need to be on the lookout for her"

"So you must be the famous Nuriel, it's an honor to meet you" Nathan Eavesden, the youngest Elders says cheerfully "I'm glad that you've chose to come back to us, we need warriors like you"
Nuriel simply bowed, looking at the young Nathan, he was different from his father and most likely more efficient if he were to continue with that positive attitude. His eyes looked grimly at the other Elders who haven't changed, they eyed at him suspiciously but he couldn't blame them. He left after Elianna betrayed them but with his luck, he wasn't labelled as a traitor...just yet.
Just remember to smile
Nuriel glanced sideways and suddenly felt Elianna's presence inside the main hall. It can't be, it couldn't be, May was miles away. He then thought of May, he hasn't forgotten her smile though it saddened him that he left without saying to her it was better this way. Yes, he made the right choice to ignore that feeling of guilt, she had to choose her path and he wasn't sure that he would fit in the picture.
"I'm honored to be at your service Elder Eavesden" he replies
"Please, call me Nathan, we live in a modern age" he then whispered while looking at the other Elder's direction "Unlike some" he chuckled. The young Eavesden looked at ease while talking to other clans, he watched him with great importance, then he felt that someone bump his hand on purpose. He glanced back and saw Sophie Hayworth grinning "Oh hello" she greets him sweetly
"Mrs. Hayworth" he quickly acknowledged "It's been a while"
"Yes it has, I'm glad I didn't bring May to this meeting, she wouldn't enjoy it either. As you know, she hates being in a large crowd and...well...you know the rest" she looks at the young Eavesden with regret "He reminds me of John when he was younger haha, what do you think?"
"He seems competent for that matter. I do hope you won't judge him so quickly" he stated
"Oh I won't, it's just that he seems quite oblivious of the past and it saddens me"
Sophia was right, if the young Eavesden knew the dark history of the Facade Community then no doubt he would back off from such gruesome responsibility. She gracefully excuses herself and joins her husband, May was truly a blessed lady to have been raised by refined parents. And yes, he was ever so curious of what May is doing right now.
