Weiss P.O.V.
Quickly I jump out from the window and see Ruby already down there. Standing. In alarm position.
As I calling out her name, she quickly rushing to another tree, which is in front of this tree. She climbing up the tree as quickly as my mind racing, thinking what in the hell is going on.
“Ruby?” I called out once more. No sign of her.
“What's wrong with her?” I mumbled to myself, jumping down the tree. The silent are killing me when I following Ruby's trails, scattering petal roses. Weird, but fascinating though.
Just as I want to call out her name, a sudden shadow fly into the air, pinned down to the ground.
Ruby and... LAYNA?!
“Surrender yourself this instant!” Ruby locking Layna's arms when Layna trying to escape. I just stood there, seeing my servant being catched by human, a human who supposed to hate us. And this is not a good sign when Ruby start to reach for Layna's wings.
“Don't—Arghh!” Layna's screaming in pain as Ruby still trying to threatening her. Quickly I get to them and slap Ruby's hand away and push her to the ground.
“What the fuck you just did?! Do you even think how much it will hurt her?!” I scream at her and quickly rushing to Layna. Layna grunting as she flipping her wings to recover.
“You are not supposed to be here.” Ruby claimed. Her eyes screamed out hatred.
“And I didn't even wished to be here anyway!” Layna replied, standing rigid now. The tension between those two makes me uncomfortable. I grabbed Layna's arm and shook my head to stop her from doing any regrettable actions.
“And you, why are you defending her?” Ruby cross her arms, glaring at me now. Sighed, I tell her, “I know she's...not belong here but please, just have mercy on her.” My eyes wandered between those two.
Then Layna pulled her hand out and touch Ruby's forehead. Immediately Ruby fall asleep.
“Should have done it earlier.” Layna catched Ruby and me, bring back to the treehouse.
“Why did you showed up? Don't you ever think of the risk?” I hissed in anger, still freaked out what just happened earlier. Layna slowly laid Ruby on the sofa.
Turned to me as she speak, “Just wanted to wait for you to be alone. But this kid,” her eyes now on Ruby, “really caught me on guard. She's fast for human honestly.”
“Sorry for that. I came here to inform you that things are getting worse at there. They need your help.” Layna leaned on the wooden wall, looking up the sky through the window.
“You know I'm not capable to save them. Not yet.” I crossed my arms and sighed. Never in my life I asked for this to happened. Never even imagining it.
Rubbed my face in frustation as I countinued to speak, “I love them all and all I want is peace for our land. I knew something happened when your king suddenly did that to me. The ceremony shouldn't have been made. I didn't even agree in the first place.”
“We might have more time to chat if there's no intruder but I shall take my leave.” Layna jumped outside through window and turned to me. “Might as well explained to that kid. Well, she remind me of someone though.”
I looked at Ruby, how in hell I'm gonna tell about this? Wait, what did Layna said? “Wait, what do you mean by—” Layna fly off without even saying goodbye. “Much of a servant she is.” I muttered in silent. Then I proceed to do some reading while waiting Ruby to wake up.
Not long enough Ruby has awake.
“Hey, you're awaked! C'mon let's get back to your house before the sun sets.” I zipped my back after finished packed my stuffs.
“Ugh.. how did I end up here?” Ruby slowly pulled herself together and sit, while rubbing her eyes and yawned. Cute.
“Wait a sec! Didn't we found someone and you... you defending her?” Ruby now all awake and looked at me.
“What do you mean we found someone? All you did was fall asleep out there. And before you fall down, it's better to put you there tho.” Hopefully she fall for my confuse and innocent act and face.
“Then it might be a dream.” Ruby muttered under her breath and rubbed her head. The side effects when Layna used her power to put someone on slumber.
Luckily enough Ruby did not ask any futher question and we walk back to her house.
