~JOSIE'S POV~
Josie and Billy had decided to go out this afternoon, to talk and spend sometime together. Josie now stared at the mirror at the result of her preparation. She had been working on her appearence more than 3 hours in total. She decided to let her hair straight for once. It looked pretty nice, which made her question why wouldn't her mom let her go to school with her natural hair. She wore a light purple simple sleeveless dress in knee length and her regular black boots with some white long socks. She smiled, although she was overflowed with nervousness. After some good minutes looking at her reflexion in the mirror to make sure everything was perfect, she ran to the door and wore her coat.
(edit: Josie's dress is at the end of the chapter)
"Mom! Dad! I'm leaving" she shouted as she closed the door behind her. She stood outside her house, as Billy would pick her up because he wanted the place he would take her to be a surprise. Her heart skipped a bit at the thought of Billy taking her somewhere special. Billy was supposed to be there in some minutes, as it was nearly 6pm and he told Josie he'd be there by 6:10pm.
After some minutes had passed, Josie got tired by standing and decided to sit on a stump next to her house's door. She checked if a damage was possible to be done on her dress by sitting there, and she played with a strand of her beautiful hair as she sat.
The sun had started to set while Josie still sat alone outside her house waiting for Billy. The wind slightly danced with her blonde locks as they bounced on her back and shoulders. Was it possible for Billy to forget their, kind of, date? Or even worse, what if he regretted even asking her? What if he didn't want to go anywhere with her? What if he realized he hates me like everybody else, just because I'm a Pye? she thought to herself, tears forming in her eyes.
It was now dark outside and the comfortable temperature transformed into a cold breeze that made her shiver to her core.
"Oh my! Josie! What on earth are you doing outside this late?" a familiar voice asked her. It was then she realized how late it had gotten. Before she could respond the voice continued.
"Go up to your room and wear some warm clothes! For gods sake, your dress could be destroyed!" her mother added.
"Isn't that Billy enough of a gentleman to bring you by the door and make sure you're inside, safe and sound?" she carried on, but before she could say another word, Josie run up into her room. She couldn't take it anymore. She slammed her door and bursed into tears. She was used on people hating her because she was a Pye. She could take even the most cruel and harsh cooments from anyone, but she couldn't handle this. She had fallen for Billy and he made her happier than she could ever imagine, like she was finally loveable to everyone, and he took that away from her just like that. He hurt her and, no matter how hard she tried to deny it, she still felt the same for him, under thick layers of madness and disappointment. No, he cant treat me like that. I'm not garbage, I have feelings too. she thought as more tears rolled down her cheeks. It was that moment she decided she would never let anyone hurt her like that anymore, and she wouldn't let people judge her by her name. She was prepared to show everyone the love her heart can spread. How would she do that?
But the real question is, did Billy actually skip their date just like that?
