I sit in class just barely keeping myself from falling asleep, my eyes feeling heavy from lack of sleep. I've been avoiding people all day, I don't want to talk to anybody about it, not now that I think I know what that thing wants. I need to apologies to Todoroki, but if I do that He'll probably ask.
I hear the door swing open and heavy steps walk in, bold steps.
"Okay guys," All might booms, his voice filling the room, "Lets head on over to the cities to begin training today."
I hear the sounds of chair squeaking against the floor as my classmates stand up and start to make their way towards the door, conversations continuing as they file out the door. I wait till I don't feel any body else walk past me to stand up, not wanting to bump into any body.
I make my way to the door, my side bumping into a desk on the way.
"Young Midoriya," All might calls, "You look awful. Did something happen to you?"
"No," I mumble my voice meek and exhausted, "Just tired."
"Are you sure?"
No, of course I'm not. I just fought something that probably wants to kill me, just to get my eyesight back.
"Yeah," I lie. My words just barely making it out of my mouth. I cringe, I've never lied to All Might, it makes me feel awful.
I walk quietly with my classmates, all of them bursting with conversation. My legs and arms ache, my stomach hurt so much this morning that I threw up and I couldn't eat breakfast.
We finally make it to the training ground and draw for teams.
Uraraka, Kaminara, Tokoyami, and Shoji; Sato, Mineta, Ojiro, and Yaoyorozu; Bakugou, Koda, Sero, and Mina; Aoyama, Iida, Jiro, and Hagakure; and the last group was Me, Todoroki, Kirishima, and Tsuyu.
We sit in the control room and watch the other kids do the missions. The objective is to catch a high-speed car before it gets out of the city. You can't destroy the car or do damage to the city.
"Your turn team 5"
We make our way outside. The wind is cold, isn't it the middle of summer though. I shiver as chills run down my spine.
"Does it seem a little... Chilly to you guys," I mutter, my voice chattering.
"What are you talking about," Tsuyu coos, "I think its pretty warm outside."
"Yeah, I think it pretty warm to." Kirishima adds
"Maybe its just you," Todoroki decides, "I have a jacket inside if you want it."
"N-No," My voice cracks as I decline
"Come on, lets go," Kirishima encourages us, "The villain should be out soon,"
We all break into a run. My goggles guiding me along with the footsteps of my classmates echoing throughout the streets.
"There it is!" I hear someone yell and then here the screech of wheels. I bolt in the direction i hear the sound. My legs screaming at me as I push forwards.
I run straight into the car. Flipping over it and landing on what I could only assume was its hood. I slide to the front and try to stop it from moving. My feet skidding against the pavement.
"Tsuyu!"
The car slows down dramatically. The smell of burning rubber plagues the air, filling our mouths and noses.
I feel the car bolt forwards and then someone in front of me.
"I got this," I hear Kirishima yell over the sound of the engine roaring.
I hear the sound over ice forming and the engine stops, the city going dead silent, and then the sounds of my friends cheering.
A smile creeps on my face at the sound of everyone so happy. We walk out of the city and into the control room again.
"Good job guys," All might booms, I can just imagine the smile on his face. Beaming even in the worst of times. I smile to, trying to forget everything that is happening. And for a minute I do, for just a minute all I feel is happiness.
At the end of the school day
"Midoriya," Aizawa Sensie calls for me, I stop walking and turn around. "I would like to inform you that you will be moving into the dorms again, We having already talked to your mother about it and she thinks it would be safer for you to be on school grounds and not have to walk through the city just to get to school. And if you want to talk about the thing that showed up in class the other day, you are always welcome to come to me, but you don't have to."
I nod, my throat choking up as I hold back my tears.
I turn away before I start to cry again and go home to gather my stuff. I get to the doors and step outside. The cold overwhelming me as the wind brushes against my face.
"Midoriya," Todoroki persists. "You look even more cold. Do you want jacket?"
"N- Uh," I hesitate my voice cracking, "um... Sure."
I feel him put his jacket on my shoulders and his hand rest there for a bit.
"You look troubled," I hear him mumble, "Did something happen yesterday? Is it that thing that showed up in class yesterday?"
I hang my head and face the ground.
"Y- Yeah," I stutter my voice weak.
"What is that thing, " Todoroki asks, "What does it want from you?"
"I-," I pause, should I tell him, yeah I need to tell someone, "Its giving me back my eyesight,"
"H-How," Todoroki gasps in disbelief, "How is that thing giving you back your eyesight!?"
"I don't actually know," I croak, exhaustion taking over me. "It says I have to beat it in a fight."
Todoroki shifts and I feel his hand rest on my shoulder.
I feel my eyes grow heavy, and I pass out, the last the I hear is Todoroki whispering something to me.
All of my friends are acting weird. First Bakugou being worried about me and then Todoroki being soft and caring. Seems weird. I wonder what happened.
