Everyone in the room watches on for what feels like an eternity, waiting in agony. The glow in Rapunzel's hair fades away, and she opens her eyes to stare at Anna's lifeless body.
Will it work?
Waiting, waiting... The room is so silent that everyone's ears begin to ring.
Anna is still motionless.
Now Elsa knows that all hope is lost. Her sister is gone, and there is nothing anyone else can do. Not even magical healing hair can help her...
"Look!" Olaf suddenly shouts.
Everyone looks to where the snowman is pointing, to Anna. The color has begun to come back in her face, and...
She's breathing! She's actually breathing!
Her eyes slowly open. "What... What happened?" She moans.
"Anna!" Elsa shouts. A smile spreads across her face so wide that her cheeks begin to hurt. She runs over to her sister's side, and hugs her tighter than she ever has in her life.
Once Elsa has had her turn with Anna, Kristoff comes over and happily kisses the princess on herlips.
Rapunzel steps back and watches, smiling at the happy scene in front of her. She stands with her husband and mother, thrilled that she was able to save this princess's life. And judging by the reactions of the ones who love Anna, she has saved more lives than one today.
"So seriously, what happened?" Anna asks, her youthful vigor once again returning.
"You... you actually died," Elsa explains. "But Kristoff returned with this princess," she gestures towards Rapunzel, "and her healing hair worked on you! She saved you!"
Rapunzel steps forward. "Well, I can't take all the credit. Kristoff, here, is the one who came and found me." She smiles at the couple in front of her. "He really loves you, you know."
"I know," Anna says with a smile of her own, glancing up at Kristoff. The ice harvester smiles embarrassedly, slightly blushing.
"Anyway, I'm Rapunzel," Rapunzel says, holding out her hand to shake Anna's.
Anna takes it. "Nice to meet you," Anna says. "And thank you so much! Your hair is truly amazing!"
"I'll say!!!" Olaf says, jumping on the bed to give Anna a big hug. Anna giggles happily.
It is now that the visiting group truly realizes that there is an actual live snowman in the room! "Um..." Eugene says. "Is that a...?"
"Live snowman? Yes, he is," Anna says. "Elsa created him with her snow powers."
Olaf jumps off the bed, and faces the new group. "Hi! I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs!" The snowman says with a wave.
Rapunzel smiles, and kneels down to give Olaf a hug. "Nice to meet you, Olaf!" She says. He is just so cute, that she can't resist!
Pascal, sitting on Rapunzel's shoulder, stares at the snowman. He shoots his tongue out to give the snowman a taste, and it lands right between Olaf's eyes. The snowman chuckles, glad to make a new friend.
Later that day, Elsa invites their visitors to join her, Anna, and Kristoff for supper in the Royal Dining Hall.
"So, you were born with magical hair?!" Anna asks Rapunzel excitedly. "That is so cool!"
"Yeah, it would have been... If I hadn't been kidnapped as a baby and raised by a crazy woman who kept me locked away in a tower for eighteen years, just so that she could keep my hair all to herself," Rapunzel replies. When she notices the blank look Anna is giving her, she laughs. "But, that's all in the past now."
"I know what you mean," Anna says, glancing at Elsa. But then she notices Rapunzel suddenly flash Kristoff a smile.. and he actually smiles back! "Um... Do you two know each other or something? I mean, before all this?"
Rapunzel realizes what Anna must be thinking. "Oh, don't worry, he's still all yours," she says. "But he is sort of... my little brother."
"Wait. What?" Anna says. Even Elsa appears surprised.
"It's... kind of a long story," Kristoff says, rubbing the back of his head embarrassedly. "But anyway... Anna? Elsa? Meet my sister, and... my mother." He gestures towards the other princess and queen.
Elsa and Anna stare blankly for a moment. "Oh, I have got to hear this story," Elsa says.
So Queen Arianna once again explains the story of how she and her husband lost their son in Arendelle.
"No offense, but... You two don't have a lot of luck with having children, do you?" Kristoff says after hearing the story for a second time.
Anna gives Kristoff a warning punch in the arm, but smiles playfully.
"So now that we've found you again," Arianna says, "I have a question to ask."
Kristoff isn't quite sure that he likes the expression on his mother's face. Anna doesn't exactly like it either.
"Would you be willing to come back to our kingdom with us? Anna could come too. We could all be a family again!"
Elsa and Anna gasp. "Um..." Kristoff says. He looks over at the two sisters.
Arianna notices the sudden silence in the room. "Well, you can think about it," she says. "We have all the time in the world now!"
Kristoff isn't so sure about this new suggestion, but he pushes the thought out of his head for now. He holds Anna's hand in his, happy to have her back. This whole experience has made him realize just how much he cannot live without her.
Elsa smiles at her sister, happy to see her and Kristoff together once again. And happy that she and Anna can once again be sisters. Is there anything that can tear their strong bond apart?
"If everyone is finished, I would like for you to join me outside in the courtyard," Elsa says.
"Oh yes, you have to come and see Elsa's powers in action!" Anna says excitedly. "They're so amazing, and so fun!"
Nothing to tear their strong bond...
The End...?
