Thinking of a Plan

As we entered the Kingdom, I could see all of the other wood elves and warriors practice their techniques among each other. They were preparing for battle, I'm sure. I had to quickly look away for the thought just sickened me now.

"Back so soon, I see?" I heard my father's voice call to me. I knew he was wondering why I had come back to the kingdom at this hour. He's so used to me staying out there until dark. But I couldn't laugh. It was hard to even smile.

"Is it too much to ask that your daughter just come home for once?" I asked, trying to make a joke out of it. Legolas smiled at my attempt while my father chuckled.

"I suppose not" My father began. "You're just always out there practicing until late in the night. Is everything alright with you?"

"Hey, love. I have to leave. I have to get ready to go" Legolas said to me.

"Okay, Legolas. I'll miss you" I replied, hugging him. We stayed like that for awhile, not wanting to let go. He pulled away, kissing my forehead before leaving. I turned to my father, instantly breaking down in tears. "Ada, why does he have to leave!? He can't leave me! This is just crazy! Ada, I cannot handle this! Why-" I frantically say, getting interrupted.

"Hey, sweetheart. Slow down! What is it? Where is he going?" My father coos at me, trying to understand.

"Ada, Legolas is going to Rivendell! He said it is a...a meeting or something about the One Ring! He said it was a meeting to see how they could destroy it! I mean...I mean- it is a suicide mission! He could die!" I say, freaking out.

"The One Ring? Is it found? Oh no...But he will be okay. Don't worry about him. Would you be going with?" Ada asks in a concerned voice.

"I want to but Legolas won't let me. I am going to figure something out though. I am going to have to find out how I can sneak out to join them"
